Now that the SLVR L7 is actually being advertised on Motorola's main page, I decided to give them a call. The Motorola representative that I spoke with said that the SLVR L7 will be released in the US during the first week of February. Only 2 more weeks to go! 😁

Yeah I know I checked out your previous post. They're decently priced too. But for those that are waiting to get it from their carrier (Cingular) it will be officially released in the US on the first week of February. If you check out Motorola's main page right now it only shows the SLVR released in Germany, Italy, UK, etc. So I'm guessing MobilePlanet either has imports or was able to get ahold of them early through some deal. That's just my 2 cents. 😎

No idea but less than the unlocked versions online. My 710 is about to die so I'm crossing my fingers.

Does anybody know if you get the slvr L7 U.S. for Cingular (Wireless Imports has the Cingular branded one) will the PTT work? Because I have the one from Europe and the PTT is not working?

Has Cingular even rolled out push to talk yet? if not, then maybe that's why it won't work. 😕

Yes, Cingular has come out with PTT. Last I've checked it's an extra $10 a month for unlimited PTT use. This is a little pricey compared to Nextel, but I think after more people get it the price should go down within the year. As of now, there are only 2, maybe 3, Cingular phones that utilize PTT (LG and Samsung models). Hope this information helped.

Although I don't have the phone yet, my best guess would be that the SLVR will support Cingular's PTT. Considering that Cingular just launched their PTT service recently and the SLVR will be launched for Cingular, I think it's safe to say that it will work. The best thing to do is to wait out another week or two for the phone to come out and ask the Cingular representative for yourself.

I can say from experience that these phones do NOT work with Cingular PTT. The only L7 that is released in the US is the one that Cingular has right now, which has I-Tunes. The ones that you can buy on line that say they are PTT L7s are European phones and they operate on a different PTT network. So, until Cingular is ready to get a Motorola phone in PTT we are stuck w/ the Samsung and the LG.

no it doesn't. the L7's do not have that feature only the L6' & 8's from europe do, but they are not compatible.
