Change USB settings from “Memory card” to “Data/Fax Connection”
Is anyone still using this phone? :-) The display on my L7 has just died. I want to download the contact list from the phone via usb. Probably I first need to change the USB settings from “Memory card” to “Data/Fax Connection” to be able to download the list via Motorola Contact Transfer Tool. The following is the path to make the change.
Menu button > Settings > Connection > USB Settings > Data/Fax Connection.
However, without a display it is a bit problematic :-)
Can anyone please tell me how many times I should press the down arrow key (or any other key) to change the setting?

CAPS LOCK?
I set my text messages to the iTAP setting and that's fine but every time i start a new text, it starts on all caps. I can fix this by hitting the 0 button twice but this gets kind of annoying. Is there a way to set the phone so it stays on regular (first letter only) capitalization as opposed to all caps?
2 GB microSD cards
They seem to be on the verge of wide release. In fact they're already shown up on eBay, such as in this listing:

Has anyone actually tried one to see if they work? The listing claims SLVR compatibility, but they might just be referring to having a microSD slot. I've heard that some phones have problems with the 2 GB cards, but I haven't found anybody that's tried one on a SLVR yet.
I'd do it myself if the cards were available from more reputable sources, like Amazon or some such. But I'm not willing to risk buying one from a random eBayer, even if he does have a pretty good rep.

Guys check out this slvr at ebay.

Okay- when I record something on this phone can I use it for a message alert and/or ringtone? I know I could on my krzr, (which I absolutely adored despite it being so fragile, but it got run over by a car), and I have been really annoyed with all the phones I have used since for lack of that feature.

My motorola slvr l7 can only store 100 sms outbox and inbox. Is it really that few. How can i increase it?

Outlook Express Time Stamp
Hi,
This has been bugging me for a long time but I've yet to figure out how to change the time stamp on my Outlook Express emails. I set up the email client about a year ago and don't even remember how I did it, but my time stamp is GMT and I'm Eastern -5.00GMT.
Does anyone know how I can change that. It drives me nuts seeing the wrong time on an email.

Bluetooth Headset Question
I just purchased a handsfree earpiece to use with my SLVR. The only thing I realized may be a problem is that I can't lock the keypad during a call. I would like to be able to connect to the headset then put the phone in my pocket for the rest of the call, but without the keypad being locked I would be afraid of pressing buttons or accidentally hanging up.
Does anyone know if it is possible to lock the keypad while connected to a call via a handsfree bluetooth connection?

deleted phonebook entries
i accidentally deleted everything stored in my motorola l7 phonebook. Is there anyway i can restore them? BTW, i dont have a back up.
connecting to computer... cant figure this out!!!
got my slvr yesterday night. and when i connect it to the computer my fone flashes "some applications may not be available" or something like that... the computer reads that i have a device plugged in. but it doesnt register in itunes. and when i go into my computer and click on the drive F it says please enter a disk. is my fone just F***ed up or am i doing something wrong???

can we add ringtone using a mem card. if so can someone guide me throught it thanks. Does Cingular have another player to play song for this phone like T-Mobile has another player u can use playing songs thanks in advance for any help i would really appreciate it thanks again

i bought the slvr l7
i got it all working i put some songs on it..
after a while it got all messed up it would freeze up during the start up
so i sent it back and they sent me a n ew one (insurance is a good thing 🙂 )
then i just got my new L7 the other day..
first thing i do is..
hook it up and go to put songs on it..
but.. itunes wouldnt recongnize my phone?!
so.. after a bit ituns told me there was a new version i said to myself '' ok i might need the new version''
so i download it.. still not noticing my phone

Unlocked SLVR on T-Mobile
I have an unlocked phone from Europe but have a few quirks. For example, the voice mail indicator does not work. Instead I get an instant message from 'Delta'@ that is blank. After I clear my voice mail messages, I get another IM from _@.
Does anyone know the appropriate settings to get T-zones, VM, etc. to work on this phone??

I have a cingular Motorola L7 I want to unlock so my brother can use it on T-mobile. Is there any method besides the test point to unlock this phone?

Trouble with Itunes
I'm wondering if anyone can help me. I've had my SLVR for about a year and when I first got it, I loaded songs on it. I did this with no problems at all.
Well, I decided I wanted to change the songs so I started Itunes, plugged in the phone through the usb cable but the phone doesn't show up in the source list.
Does anyone know why this is suddenly happening?
