Unlocked vs. Cingular Branded

I've never really looked into the unlocked phones until now, so I'm not sure I fully understand them. It seems like the unlocked phones are exactly the same as the Cingular phones, except will work on any GSM carrier, correct? Then my question is, is there any advantage at all in getting the Cingular phone instead of an unlocked one, since the unlocked ones don't come with iTunes (And therefor the 100 song limit)? If I were to get the unlocked model, would all teh features (Excluding PTT) work fine, or are there compatability issues?

Thanks in advance

the cingular branded one has their software flahed on it. meaning you will not have to manually programm it for data uses and a few other things. this software also makes the phone 's features easier to use. theres are sometimes features on unlocked phones that the cingular version will not be capable of using.

also if you have any hardware or software problems DONT expect cingular to help you. there is no way to have help for a product thats not theirs. i.e dont expect to be able to file a warrenty exchange if the phone decides to follow its own page.

other than that your good to go. 😁
