Playing MP3's not baught thru iTunes?
Correct me if I'm wrong but am I reading right that this phone only plays music purchased thru iTunes? It will not play MP3's loaded onto the memory card?
Someone said the ROKR E1 plays MP3's if you dont load thru iTunes into the phone, I'v enot confirmed it, but has anyoen tried to play regular mp3's on this and found it to work, if they don't use iTunes to load up via USB?

you don't have to buy them through iTunes but they have to load through and play using iTunes. DL the iTunes software on your computer and import your MP3's into iTunes from File/Add File and select what you want to add. Then connect your phone and just drag and drop into your phone. You can also make your playlists in iTunes first and drop those into your phone. Hope this helps.

Hey thanks for the input, I was worried that it wouldnt take them. I run all my music thru iTunes, so I guess its converted. Just import it into the iTunes library and it'll work right? No converting to mpeg4?
100 songs for me is enough at any given point so capacity doesn't bother me. I'd get the ROKR E2 if it just wasn't so ugly 😛 And I'm partial to metal over plastic when accessable.

You can load mp3's onto the memory card to play. You just can't play them in iTunes, and they have to be under I think 192kbps. Just hook the phone up to the computer, do to the phone drive that appears, and copy the files into the mobile>audio directory (I think that's what it is... I don't have my USB cable around to check right now)
Then to play them, just go to "My Stuff/Sounds" from the phone's main menu, then choose the menu (four lines) key and "switch storage device" to the memory card. Then it plays through Moto's built in audio player, though the iTunes interface is better organized.
