Why did the main display quality drop from the V3's 262K colors to 65K?

I hope that's a misprint. The big beautiful display is one of the phone's pluses. It's got to be a misprint.

Told ya gunny. Even systemshock had me questioning myself, but I knew I remembered reading that all the V3c was going to be was the V3 with EVDO. Therefore, it would only have a 65k color screen. That is why I refuted shock so adamantly before I finally gave in.

A few points:

1. There's really not that much of a difference between a good 65,000-color display and a typical 262,000-color display. As long as it's TFT and decent brightness and quality, most people can't tell the difference unless it's a rare image with specific kinds of subtle gradations (not your average photo). If you can tell, you have better eyes than yours truly.

2. The original RAZR (like most recent Motorolas) can only display 65,000 colors for wallpaper, which is one of the few situations where the extra color shades might actually be noticeable. So the original RAZR wasn't 100% 262K, either.

3. Because of the issue above, the original RAZR was marketed as both 65K and 262K, depending on how cautious the l...

I will tell you one thing....if it is the same exact screen as the original V3, it is absolutely worthless in bright sunlight. And not the worthless we are used to with VZW where you can still kinda see it....it is COMPLETELY worthless. Take it from me as I have had the original V3 since April. It is really bad, even in my car, on a sunny day.

The average user will not notice, but cell-phone "enthusiasts" will. This is just another negative to a growing list.
