unlocking the v3c
Many people have been talking about purchasing a V3c from alltel and unlocking it for verizon in order to take advantage of OBEX. I was thinking of doing the same. How could I unlock this phone for verizon?

CDMA phone are not locked, it just having Verizon's software flashed on your phone. If you do not have the appropriate software on it you wont be able to get on mobile web, send videos or pics. and other data stuff like that.

thanks for the response ccanady. just one more thing, would flashing verizon's software to the phone disable its OBEX capability? Come to think of it, would flashing the phone make the entire endeavor (purchasing a phone from alltel to retain OBEX support) redundant?

you dont have to flash the phone w/verizons software!! all you have to do is do an esn change then change the prl from an alltell prl to a verizon prl then do a few seem edits to change the eri banner so it says verizon instead of alltell extended or show the roaming indicater!!check out this form on hofo !!http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php? t=777978

I had my phone flashed for cricket and everything works fine, the only thing that I cant get to work is the picture messaging after I try it, it says National Access Coverage Not Available. Can anyone please help me with this?
