how to put ringtones on my phone

i have the motorola phone tools but everytime i load a song onto my phone it automatically sned the song into audio instead of ringtones and i even used the melody studio where you crop the song and transfer but it wont transfer to rings tones!!! HELPPPP...

Download an MP3 cutter then transfer - I've never been able to edit and save a song through MPT as an MP3 and the phone wont recognize any other format. I use the bluetooth transfer and that way there is no need to even bother with MPT.
