Bought rhis phone today as a replacement phone. I got it at a MetroPCS store across from where I work in Mt. View, Ca.

So far, it's a much better phone than my last one.(Samsung Stunt).

Pro's include:

1)Bluetooth
2)Decent signal
3)Red color
4)Matches current accessories
5)PRICE, PRICE, PRICE! $29.00

Con's include:
1)Battery life. (have car charger)
2)1x data (SLOW WEB)
3)No camera

Overall, I think it's a good basic phone if talking and texting is all you do.

I would recommend for kid's first phone.

Patrick

I gave it a 3 ONLY because this entry level phone costs $0.00! That's right, with the mail in rebates, the cost is effectively NADA. Of course, you'll have to pony up $30.00 to start with, big woop.

I've had the phone for about 2 months now. Oh, I'm sorry, did I say "phone", I meant "PHONES"... As this is my third one! I have had an ongoing problem with these phones that won't go away.

After speaking into the phone for any more than a couple of minutes (more or less...) at a time, I get a my voice echoing (loudly) back to me as I'm trying to carry on a conversation. To me, this indicates some kind of design flaw, who knows...

So far, MetroPCS have been good about replacing the phone considering that the terms dictate you are basically out of luck after a month.

So this has been my "everything" phone. Business included. For the occasional caller, it's a good, basic phone. For someone that is going to use it to do any kind of serious "phone" business, forget it. Spend some money you cheapskate...

PROS:
1- It's FREE! Sort of...
2- For being such a small-form-factor phone, the keypad has an excellent feel. See cons...
3- Usable Texting and basic Web. See cons...
4- ALL functions work while "live" charging! Don't try this while taking a shower kids...
5- Menu and settings are easy to use, if very basic.

CONS:
1- If you have BIG fingers, the soft keys are going to be a problem. The DPad ring is fine, but the center button just sucks. It should have been made round, not elongated.
2- The Web; obviously no Java and no html, what do you expect? However e.g., if you are reading black text on a white background, it is very difficult to read the "highlighted" part of the text because the highlight is DARK grey! Hello? Outdoors this is a real problem.
3- The battery is rated at 3+ hours, Web usage will begin to >DRAIN< the battery in half an hour.

Like I said, what do want for free! ;)

I had this phone for a while. It was ok. Average. I prefer my new phone more with straight talk, and the deal I get unlimited minutes texting and web browsing for 45$,on the Verizon network.
