After reading other reviews, I wondered if we were discussing the same phone? Ringer volume is a joke. I also miss calls due to poor placement of the volume buttons. Placing this fone in your pocket will cause the volume to turn down to low and you will also engage the camera. I have a folder full of pics of the inside of my pocket or the screen wallpaper.
It is not compatible with my Garmin bluetooth. Also, when receiving a call, you may engage anyone of the buttons on the touch screen with your ear. This will result in either ending or muting your call, or just having to put up with an annoying beep, if the number screen is being used. Do yourself a favor, skip this piece of junk!
It does, however, have a nice camera.

If you can't hear the ring, what good is it

This phone has some great features but I miss most calls because I can't hear it ring. I've been through 3 phones of this model and all are alike. You can't make it louder. You can't download a different ringtone. My son pointed out that the speaker is under the hard shell case so removing the case makes it louder, (though still not loud) but then your phone is unprotected. I drilled tiny holes through the case over the speaker and that is better, but still very poor volume. The battery in all 3 phones often quickly charges to 90% but then stops, even if you leave it charging over night. If you unplug and then plug it in again, sometimes it will finally charge to 100%. I like the size. I like the keyboard, camera, and free wifi feature. But if you can't hear it ring, what good is it?

Okay, I have had this phone for a while and I hate it. You can't record voice, you can't forward stuff, you can't send ringtones, the only thing you can do is text and take pictures (if no data plan)!! It is my least favorite phone and I would trade it for a razor any day. Sorry Microsoft but it's not good and I want to throw it at a wall and watch it shatter into pieces. Not to mention that it freezes, it doesn't receive texts occasionally, it will reset it's time o. It's own, it will say you didn't read a message when you did, just a lot of cons and not many pros. I would suggest this phone to an 8 year old! And an 8 year old only!!!!!

Best feature phone I've ever owned.

Pro: FM radio works well at my work where no other FM radio did.
Pro: text conversation history displayed and saved so you can pick up where you left off. Capacitive display works well. Selection of pre-loaded ringers is good. Flash LED for camera is bright. Favorite mosaic makes calling, texting nearly instant. It can play Podcasts (video and audio).

Con: No backup assist and they couldn't transfer my numbers. Ringer volume not that loud but choice of ringers helped it to be hearable. Keyboard buttons tight but usable. Must turn down ringer to avoid a loud start up beep when recording video. No custom ringers. Can't find a complete manual on verizon, sharp or microsoft website.

Tips: Pause and wait (for auto dial) available from number pad by pressing and holding number keys.
