definitely a phone you should choose.

My father purchased this phone RIGHT after we saw it launch from Verizon. It had just been released to the website. So we went to the store that has the phones where we usually see them or get accessories, and they informed us it was online only and was out of stock. So then it was in the stores and online and then it was out of stock again. Definitely a hot seller.

Well we got one and after 1 almost 2 days of experimenting the phone isn't that bad of a phone. It's got a big screen and compared to my Motorola Rival (Previously I owned the Voyager) i gotta say both phones are pretty good.

Pros:
Big screen
good keypad
all the features
social app
cons:
the scroll was hard to get used to

Nice, feature packed phone, but...

I ordered this the day it launched, as I am a former Alltel customer who has been experiencing a great deal of dropped calls since Verizon took over; and I was working with a rep on solutions the day before. This phone appealed to me because of the qwerty keyboard, nice camera, and grandma-cam (video) features. I talk, text and picture/video message only. And this seemed to be the only phone with the video messaging feature without having to buy a data plan. The screen is big, clear and easy to see. I like that it locks every time it's closed. I also like the menu options; tabs works best for me. However, on the downside, the battery really sucks...literally! Charge it every night or you'll run out of juice. The keyboard takes some getting used to. The buttons are small and the orange color used for the special characters is difficult to read. I've gotten used to it, but if you need reading glasses, you may want to consider another phone unless you want to pull them out every time you dial. The optical control takes some finesse, but again, you get used to it. Signal strength remains an issue with this phone; my husband's Samsung is a bit better. Even the network extender Verizon gave us offers little help. But again that may have more to do with the fact that Alltel was the only carrier with reliable reception on our rural property; and those towers have been turned off.
