Kyocera DuraPlus - Sprint Phone Review

This phone is a huge rugged brick phone and I like it a lot. I want a solid phone that can go with me when I jog outdoors, and can make good calls and go for days without a charge. The Kyocera DuraPlus is a phone I have long been waiting for as a former Nextel customer who loved his Motorola i365 phone.

The Pro's

-very rugged and rock solid
-nice screen which can be seen even in sunlight!!
-excellend keypad, I text fast and dial easily and quickly
-call quality is great
- signal strength is steady but can vary, but no dropped calls!
-the price, it is 69.99 with new service after a mail in rebate
-it is rugged and it is large, I need a large phone.
-It is packed with very loud ringers
-Phone's UI is a little dated, but it is easy and simple to navigate

The Cons:

-The phone cannot save mp3 ringers that I text or email it (which is ok, I found some preinstalled loud ringers that I do like).

-the web browser can be sluggish (but this is not a smartphone so I don't expect a fast browser)

-You cannot save pictures you get from MMS, email, etc, but I found a way around this by going to myxer.com setting up a free account and going through the site to send pictures to save as wallpaper

-Sprint does not have a good selection of games for this phone (I wish I could get Bejeweled, but oh well)

I feel that the cons are very minor. Overall this phone is a must if you want a rugged feature phone that serves well for a cellular device. I get great battery life with the standard 1650 mAh battery, but I did get the 2300 mAh battery from Sprint (which does not add bulk to the phone) for longer talk times!

If you are wanting a good rugged phone from Sprint, this is the phone to get if you like a large bulky rugged phone.
