I recently purchased the Samsung ZRE Unico LTE Z930L on the Straught Talk plan and am very happy with this phone. It has a nice battery run time, comes with an 8 GB micro SD card installed in it, and very fast screen swipe response. However I do not like the default keyboard they used with this phone. This keyboard software is called TouchPal keyboard. Although it in its self is o.k., I did not like the fact that when typing it has touch vibration which cannot be turned off. This is something I do not like or need and it uses extra resources from the battery. Especially if you text a lot. TouchPal keyboard has a later version with this same name but with the "X" suffix and this version allows one to adjust or turn off touch vibration. I tried to down load this version onto my new phone and was surprised by the pop up saying my phone was not compatible with this version. SO...I ended up down loading a google playstore keyboard software by GO Keyboard, who offer several cool keyboard skins and wall papers. Once I did that and forced stop on the default TouchPal software my new ZTE Unico LTE phone is great. For 179 dollars and some change this phone is really square business and I think its worthy of praise. Although the battery has not yet ran out on me yet, I have looked of an extended run time version for it and have not found one yet. I'm sure however there will be one out soon. Enjoy

Christopher

Straight Talk Sevice and Unico LTE

I wanted to upgrade and I really wanted a 4G phone but do not want to pay for an Iphone as I personally find it absurd to spend that kind of money on a phone. Enter the ZTE Unico LTE. Just released on the market. There were no reviews to read but I figured, someone has to be the Guinea pig. SO I bought two for less than the price of an iphone. One for my husband and one for me. So... I have been playing with the phone for a few days and I love it. I can put tons of music on it. Speakers are excellent. Love the weight and size. Touch screen performs much better than any android I have used. My husband has never had an android and was skeptical. He loves it too. The only problem SO FAR was the fact that since I bought it through straight talk, I ran into a problem with service towers. A friend checked out my phone (services phones and computers professionally) and he said though the phone was made with the capability of working with a couple of carriers, Straight talk had my phone working on T Mobile and I was running BELOW 2G, on something called EDGE. He said Straight talk was of course using the least expensive provider for the phone. I called them and asked them to send me a SIM card for AT&T. The guy said my ONLY option is to return the phone and buy a different one with 4G. Not happy. I was transferred to the department that would handle the return/refund and was told I would be refunded for both phones in 1-2 billing cycles (30-60 days!!) Not acceptable and I made a stink. A big one. I said I would never again use them for my service and I would tell everyone not to use straight talk. Not what they want to hear. So... She puts me on hold and lo and behold, she comes back on the line and says, "We will send you 2 SIM cards for AT&T." Our computer/phone friend said AT&T is fantastic, so I accepted. Will have new SIM cards in 5 days max. Great phone. Be sure you insist that you get AT&T for this phone if you expect to have 4G. Other than that, LOVE the phone!
