I was thrilled when I got my S3 mini. But I noticed that holding the phone in the right hand, I could push both the sound and on/off button at the same time. This resulted in the sound being changed by mistake. However, it was something I learned to avoid after a short while. Other than that, here are some Pros and Cons:
Pros:
Intuitive. Anyone with a modicum of experience will find that all the controls in the home bar and screens are laid out to make sense.
Proactive: I can do almost anything with this phone that the big brother S3 can do.
Secure: There are a number of great security and other organizing apps that keep the insides trim and uncluttered. When I don't like an app I just whisk it away and choose another
Good Sound: Whether by ear or speaker the other person's voice is clear and has good volume.
Good Speed: Ive heard of phones "bogging down" while operating but have not noticed this. The display and page change speeds are quite good, better in some cases than my desktop computer.
Good Graphics: Not only is the phone stylish but it's graphics are too. From phone to Contacts to SMS, all are easily understood and good looking. The camera does pretty well but has been scaled back a little for the size. It works for me.
Plenty of Apps: I don't think I'll run out anytime soon with both Samsung and Google making apps for this phone. And many are customizable such as the Go SMS Pro package I use. I can usually find a way to make the look and feel of apps the way I like them.
Battery life: I thought I would be concerned about this at first but I since realize the battery life fits my use.
charging every other day is sufficient.
Cons:
Ony a couple: The opposing buttons that control sound and power could be placed differently. Also there is a lot of unseeded apps that don't seem to go away. I would rather choose what I what in that drawer.
Summary:
Honestly, the S3 mini wasn't my first choice but it has become it.
