The Verve is a basic phone. Slide-out keypad is nice for texting. But, one big drawback - the basic keypad has the ICE (911) key at the corner edge, so it will dial 911 when you stick it in your pocket - even with the keypad locked. So you cannot safely carry it in your pocket (or purse).
