At one point in 1998, I realized that I could have paid a total stranger $199 to kick me in the nuts, and it would have accurately simulated the experience of using the Samsung SCH-1500 with Sprint Prepaid. Airtime cost fifty cents per minute, but that was okay; airtime prices aren't an issue when you can't make any calls.
At least it was very easy to see whenever I had no bars, even in bright sunlight, because the 1500 was equipped with a proper display; namely, that of the gray LCD variety. It was that phone's most useful feature, and, sadly, it has gone the way of low gas prices and tasteful television.
Until now.
The Nokia 1112 might indeed be the last of the gray LCD phones, which is a shame. What's the point in a color screen on a phone with no camera? It's easy to get suckered into thinking we need a bunch of crap on our phones like a 262,000-color TFT screen with an optional food processor and fungus remover. The 1112 is a good, basic phone with a loudspeaker and a 2.5mm headset jack.
PROS:
+ Useful, visible screen
+ Good reception, decent sound
+ Long battery life
+ Excellent keypad
+ Good selection of ringers
+ Quick charge time
CONS:
- Construction material feels somewhat cheap
- 2.5mm jack is Nokia-specific
Nokia doesn't mess around when it comes to GSM handsets; their execution is effortless yet masterful, like a Dean Koontz novel or a Tom Glavine curveball. If what you want is a phone, and not a Swiss Army knife with a screen, then you absolutely cannot go wrong with the 1112.
This phone is awesome and basic

I got this back in 2006 that it was a good deal. It was from the network telcel. I can play rapid roll and snake xenzia really good after 4 years. The phone was in great shape when I got it but it got carried around some and i experimented with it some and it got a little worn. One time it was on a desk and got knocked off. It landed on the screen and it somehow made it so the screen didn't display not even the backlight. BUT I HEARD SOUNDS AND THE KEYPAD LIT UP AND WORKED. so i banged it on the table and it turned on lol.
It has some good ringtones. It's good for what i need it for which is gaming.
Nokia 1112 old looks, but first class performance

PROS:
Sound = From a land line phone reception is clear and a person would not think it is a cell phone when listen to it. Also the volume can be raised so it is too loud. A benefit to earing difficulties people can have.
Usage= Buttons easy to press, with no worry of hitting the wrong bottons.
Battery life= Above average. Without a color screen and all the other stuff phones have this is an advantage in good battery life.
___________________________________________
CONS:
Reception= Above average but it can very from phone to phone of the same type from
7 to 9 on a 1 to 10 scale, with10 being best.
Looks= Looks ugly, like an old phone from the 90s. But does that matter.
Attachments= No Blue tooth and no download of extra ring tones

Conclusion:
A basic phone worth buying is you don't need to do everything else many phones have.
i own this phone as a freebie

when i was in the province, there was this local cellular network (sun cellular) who set up their tower in our area. i am one among the 11 people in our place who got this 1112 as a freebie. i am happy so far for the features of this basic phone.
