GreatCall today extended its LiveNurse service to the Apple iPhone. The LiveNurse service provides phone access to a nurse 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, directly from the iPhone. LiveNurse requires users to download an application and costs $3.99 per month to use. When called, the nurse will ask a few basic questions and follow standard medical protocols to direct the caller to the appropriate care. The service also includes access to an interactive symptom checker and the A.D.A.M. Medical Encyclopedia, which provides descriptions of common medical procedures and treatments, lists of symptoms, warnings, tests, and results. The application and service are available from iTunes starting today.
