Tracfone is ok as long as you don't need to talk to customer service. Don't know if they are a bunch of american hater idiots or they are just plain stupid. I guess I fall into the stupid category too because I've been with tracfone a number of years. I don't use the phone excessively and can get by with about $100 a year. (about 800 units). If I could find another company that uses american speaking customer service personnel for about the same cost I would drop tracfone like a hot potato. I want to buy a Motorola 176 from Tracfone. I live in Central PA. Union County to be specific. The coverage map posted on Tracfone's website contains an awful lot of white color indicating no coverage. Does anyone know how this phone works in Central PA or which carriers network Tracfone uses in this part of the country? How about a Pennsylvania coverage map?

Getting ready to replace my Tracfone Motorola C155 (two keys sticking)... Does the LG600G's external display show who's calling, or do you have to flip open the phone to see who a caller is?

I assume the speakerphone is half-duplex on this model. Any praises / condemnations on how it works (ie, is there really an annoying delay)? Wish I could find a FULL-duplex Tracfone...???

My LG 600G can send photos that my friends can view on thier non-TracFones, but I can't view thier sent jpg photos on my TracFone. Photos are less tha 300K maximum size.

Get a "not supported" messages while trying to open photos.

I used to have a Motorola V170, which worked beautifully with several text alerts services, including Chase & Washington Mutual (rip).

I recently got an LG 600g tracfone (for the Bluetooth support, primarily) and had my old phone number and units transferred...only now NONE of my former text alert services work. I get a message saying 'Sorry, this service is unavailable for your current service plan.' WTH? My service and plan is the same - what gives?

Is this because I transferred my old number to this phone, or is it the phone itself?

I bought a Motorola W376g and transferred my minutes over from an old phone.

The Web browser does not work, I get the message that they cant authorize my account.

I've called them several times and either they are no help or I cant understand what the people are saying. Has anyone dealt with this problem before and know how to fix it. They said they reset the feature on my account but it did not fix the problem.

Just got this thing an hour and a half ago. Tried to add minutes from my damn $150 airtime card, didn't work I already activated the phone via telephone.I've already gotten unregistered sim errors, searched through the TF tech support and Im tired and angry and cannot get a signal to save my life...... NO SIGNAL!

On top of that it's only showing I have 10.0 minutes of service and TF DID NO GIVE ME A PHONE NUMBER. Even when I look online @ my TF account it shows my TF number as T172****** . Seriously this phone is about to meet a 185gr hollow point if I cannot solve this.

Please excuse my ranting I'm just a little aggravated that I spent $179 on a phone & airtime and the damn thing doesn't work.

My dad had tracfone for about 13 days. They changed the terms of the deal they offered and then charged his credit card twice the amount they should have.

F*** Tracfone and all it's crooked employees.

In my experiences with Tracfone, it is good for three types of people-
1. People who use their phone infrequently or like the security of having a phone in case of emergency

2.People who have bad Credit

3. People who need to cut back on phone bills or liimit their phone usage.

The huge plus with the Tracfone service is convenience. I found a decent motorola phone for 10 dollars, and was able to set it up in very little time over the internet. One doesn't even need to enter any personal information as far as I remember. The convenience of the service is a great thing for those who have less than stellar credit.

For someone who uses a phone only for emergencies or infrequent calls- < or = 2 a day- this is might be a great ...

I was wondering if anyone can point me to any announcement or information on Tracfone and their discontinuance of the use of AMPS and D-AMPS (TDMA).
Did they choose to end service with the shutdown of AT&T and Verizon's legacy networks?
Did they or do they use any other carrier's legacy networks, such as Alltel, since they are doing a phased shutdown, or US Cellular, since they are shutting down later in the year? Any other carriers?

Also, Does NET10 use just 2G wireless technology and newer? (Not that I've heard of any 3G NET10 or Tracfone phones.)

Can anyone here help me? I accidentally locked my SIM card (hold the ridicule please; how stupid of me, I know) a few weeks ago and ever since then I've been trying to get a new SIM card...

I went to their website and through the technical support section I requested another SIM card, but a few days later I checked back and the site said my address was invalid or something like that (I have a P.O. Box); the site only asked for my street address which wouldn't be correct.

So I called them up and they didn't give me any help WHATSOEVER. Now I'm seriously considering running my phone over with my car and buying a new phone to get rid of this nightmare!!!

Anyone out there got any advice on what I should do now? I'd greatly appreciate it...
