Got a call from a man who's trying to download pictures from his computer to his phone via USB, and is getting "the file is too big" error messages. I advise him that, well, the file is probably too big for the available memory on his phone. He says "But I thought the cable takes care of that." Silence for a moment as I digest this, then I inform him that there is nothing in a USB cable that can possibly change the size of a file being transferred through it, and that he might want to check out that attractive mini-Frisbee that came with the cable for assistance in resizing the pictures. I guess the tiny connector fooled him into thinking only tiny pictures could go through into the phone......

I have a very good friend who is a VZW customer and he is going to Bermuda for his honeymoon. His VZW phone will be very expensive to use there, so I mentioned that I could lend him my RAZR after I get it unlocked (since I bought it for full retail price), and move my sim to my 6230, so he could have a phone to use down there. All he would have to do is get a prepaid SIM card.

I saw on gsmworld.com that Cingular has coverage virtually everywhere in Bermuda, so I was wondering if he could get a prepaid SIM from Cingular and use it in my RAZR without me having to unlock it.

If so, how much would that cost for him to do?

If not, how could he go about getting a prepaid SIM in the US to use in Bermuda? Everything I have found is a...

So, do any of you guys ever get the parents of a kid who decides to run up $80.00 worth of Direct Bill Charges and another $75.00 in Wireless Internet charges? I just got that call, and suprisingly enough, the kids parents were pretty calm and respectful towards me. Unlike the calls I normally get where I get yelled out for their "angel" that never does anything wrong!! BS!

But this is the question I ask to the rest of your reps...Do you feel sorry for that kid knowing that he's about to get his ASS WHOOPED? Because they sure didn't take it out on me and besides the normal blaming cingular, he's gotta take the fall for it. 🤣 YA BETTER RUN KID! WHEREVER YOU ARE!

1) Cingular lies, and forces their reps to lie as well.
2) Sure early evenings sounds good, oh but you have to pay $7.00 for them. (ps. AT&T offered them for free if you were a good customer.)
3) The customer service sucks! Every rep is so afraid of having bad stats that it completley takes away from what is the most important part of a company....THE CUSTOMER! (Big suprise there)
4) Nation plans only cover about 60% of the U.S, yay no roaming thats because your phone just plain won't work in these areas. Yeah thats handy.
5) Sure you'll get a free new phone, but were gonna hit you with an 18.00 activation fee, and probably not tell you about it.
6)They are not good to work for. Its all just a money hugry scam, that treats the customer ...

I just read that VZW is releasing their Unlimited "IN Network" texting plans on Monday, 4/18/05. I was just curious as to whether there is anything like this in the works with Cingular?

I would like to cancel my VZW account since my fiancee's contract with them is expiring and I have a Cingular account that I use for work. But it would be nice if something like that was coming to Cingular soon.

Anyone have any ideas? Just curious cause it seems that anytime Cingy does something, VZW follows, and vice versa.

I am currently with SprintPCS and would like to get the RAZR and Cingular, but have a few questions. First off, I am in Southwestern Michigan, near Indiana. I am unsure what my coverage here is. I thought about buying one of the cheap prepaid phones for $30 to test signal strengths prior to making my main purchase, is this a good way to test for signals? Is there some other place I can find coverage maps that would be quite accurate? My zip is 49099.

Also, on the internet side of things, if I get the $25 'Media Net - Unlimited' will that get me everything? I guess I am confused about the 4 MediaNet options vs. the Media Basic/Media Works option. Or do you have to buy from both sections, one for bandwidth amount, and then Basic or W...

I switch to Cingular to get away from the menagerie that is ATTWS. I had to use the BBB to get away from them.

When I activated my service, I put down a $200 deposit on the account. I canceled my service on 3/25/05. Upon canceling, i put in an NWRS for my refund. I was told to call in this week to check the status of the NWRS. Come to find out... THE NWRS WAS CANCELLED. The rep who put it in failed to tell me that my account must be canceled for 60 days before I can even FILE for the refund.

Now I was told (by Tim tt5005, who works in receivables managements) that I must wait the 60 days from the cancellation date to even file the form. Then I have to call back in to file the form and WAIT AN ADDITIONAL 60 DAYS FOR THE NWRS TO PROCES...
