Why is the 8801 so expensive?

Does anyone know why the 8801 is so outrageously priced ($500) am I missing something here? I can get a 6103 that does everything and more for $50 bucks. Any insight would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

JT

liquid damage

It seems that certain phones seem to hold up against liquid damage a lot better than we would expect. For example, the Nokia 6101 seems to do very well after being dumped in a swimming pool. Yet some phones, like the RAZR, will be instantly damaged after being next to a steamed shower. The Samsung C225, and the Nokia 6010 seem to hold up very well against liquid damage (then again, what can the 6010 NOT last through). Why do you think some phones hold up better to liquid damage than others?

GMS technology: better sound quality than CDMA?

I had Cingular. I dropped a huge amount of phone calls. But the few times that I was able to talk to other people, their voice sounded very good. "crystal clear" if you will. But of course the dropped calls made me switch to Verizon.
I have yet to drop a call in the few days that I've had Verizon service. And I have coverage virtually everywhere, here in NYC. Even inside my building. I had 2 bars with Cingular in the building; now I have 5.
But there's something funny about the sound quality of the person talking to me. They seem to be mumbling. I find myself asking "what?" often.
It's not terrible but noticeable and it makes a difference to me.
I hear T-mobile provides better overall service than Cingular in New York City, so

Is t...

Optional additional minutes Question

Hey everyone - I have a favor to ask the group. I know your immediate response is going to be "well it all depends on your usage, but with the obvious answer aside, I need everyone to think a minute and give me your opinion other than the obvious. Here is my situation: I am on the 1500 minutes a month flat plan for $39.99 with no nights and weekends. I have had an increase in my talk habbits within the last 3 months or so. I am also in a job for the Summer which requires travel and a lot of phone calls while on the road. I don't think the 1500 minutes a month plan is enough and I do not want to spend an extra $10 a month to upgrade to unlimited nights and weekends and extend my plan an additional year because I just recently did that to get...

SK3 drawbacks

It's kind of unfortunate to have a 1.3 megapix camera but be unable to take video or have zoom. It's also kinda frustrating to have no alarm clock or calculator. Then again, they could make it analog, with a black and white screen and no internet browser and pop-culture will make sure it will sell like hotcakes.

Best phone EVER!

Hey guys, in your opinion, what is 1) the best phone we carry right now, and 2) the best phone T-Mobile has ever carried.

1) I think the best phone in the store today is the t809

2) The best T-Mo phone of all time has GOTTA be the Nokia 6600

possible stolen phone?

I just found out that a phone i bought might be a stolen tmobile phone. I haven't put my sim card in it yet, but I'm just wondering if the phone is stolen then will I get in trouble for using it? I did not steal the phone, I did pay for it. But a friend has told me that the guy I bought it from has a tendency to steal things and sell them. I didn't know this at the time or else I would never have bought it. So is it safe to use it on the tmobile network or will the serial number show up on the network and I'll get into trouble? I guess another person bought a phone from him that ended up to be stolen, however it was an Alltel phone and they use the ESN numbers to identify on the network. So what should I do? Or should I call tmobile an...

Any news on V3i?

Any word on the V3i comming to TMobile? I don't want to get into why but I have a 'need' for a V3. The V3 is dated and V3i seems like an nice update. The V3x might also work in this application but it seems like there has been no recent news from TMobile on these phones.

Question about blackberry add on...

I use a RAZR and a Blackberry 7230. I am thinking about carrying one device, as I dont use the blackberry that much (but when I need it, I need it, for travel, etc.). If I just get a voice plan with blackberry add-on (would be cheaper), could I just have 1 SIM and switch between the 2 devices? Would I be able to get data on RAZR using the blackberry data plan, without incurring extra charges?

Thanks!

Triband 900 without 850 in US

Guys,

Can you use a triband phone with 900 instead of 850 in the US? If so, are there service limitations?

Thanks!!!
