T-mobile disappoints in the USA (2nd quarter) but got OK to bid

There is some bad news and some good news.

1. Tmobile USA only signed up 650,000 net new subscribers which is the bad news

2. The good news is that Tmobile USA is approved to bid when the spectrum auction comes up.

What is the view of people on here? Could it be perhaps the start of Tmobile USA's demise?

Q2 Information

For those who care

http://yahoo.reuters.com/news/articlehybrid.aspx?sto ... »

FRANKFURT, July 16 (Reuters) - Germany's T-Mobile [TMOG.UL], the mobile arm of telecoms group Deutsche Telekom (DTEGn.DE: Quote, Profile, Research), has won far fewer new customers in the United States in the second quarter than in the first, a magazine said on Sunday.

Focus magazine said T-Mobile had won 650,000 new mobile phone customers in the key U.S. market from April to June compared to 1.035 million new customers in the first quarter.

A spokesman for T-Mobile declined to comment.

Question?

This is a question for all T-Mobile reps and those with experience: I have verizon right now, but soon I will be going to Hungary and all around Europe so I know I need a GSM phone. What is my best bet?

Also, I was thinking of getting t-moble for the SK3 or the MDA primarily for internet and insant messaging. Will i still be able to use the internet and messaging services in Europe if I get the service in the US.

Thank you for your time,
Rayna

Dealing With The Wireless Industry. Pt. III: Out For Blood

👀 I have to be careful because with the lawsuits going around I have to be careful so I don't get sued. Seriously though those case is gonna get settled in no time at all. On to more interesting stuff, I recently ran across a post on another website where a customer said that all cell phone reps only care about making a sale and not the customer.

This stuck a cord with me, being a independent agent myself, and hearing this made me mad but also had me thinking is there any truth to what this guy is saying. I enjoy making my customers happy with their purchase even if its a small sale because I know they will come back or bring more business my way. Yet there are a few bad apples in the bunch.

So this question is for all the ag...

antenna booster ~ what do you all think

Am I just naive thinking that an As Seen On TV cell phone antenna booster will work??

I routinely get JUST ONE bar in the places I find myself the most (home, friends, work) and want to believe that this little thing will give me that critical extra bar I need.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

The suspense is killing me

Hello, i've had T-mobile for about 4 months now and i love it so far. But as i look toward the future i'm a bit puzzled. T-mobile is lagging in upgrades:

Cingular, Sprint, Verizon, etc. have all updated their own versions of the HTC Wizard with the MSFP. Its killing me that I cant get a repsonse out of a t-mobile rep about this at all. Does anyone have an idea when they will be releasing this?

Cingular is going HSDPA and now has PTT, and all other carriers have EV-DO. Any idea of when t-mobile will even try to do 3g service?

HTC TYTN/Hermes

ok, I am not sure if this question was asked before, but here it goes: If T-Mobile gets the
HTC TYTN/Hermes, it offers quad-band GSM and UMTS, if I am roaming, will I be able to utilize the UMTS bands of the carrier I will be roaming on like I would be utilizing the GSM 850 band? 😕

I would appreciate any help anyone can offer. 🙂

Thanks in advance. 😉

I've got a Samsung SGH-X495, will this stuff work on it? If not, what other cool things can I do to my cell phone?

Giving A Little Recognition To Reps.

🙂 This post is for all the people who actually do a good job helping their customers and making a good example for their company. There is too much bashing going around these forums and everyone seems to want to blame the reps like we have control over any carrier's policies.

I wanted to take some time to give some props for my follow reps caught in the middle taking crap from both sides of the job they do. Sometimes not every customer is a pleasure to help and your bosses can give you stress disorders but hopefully you just one drink away from peace. 😉

Have a Great Day!

Custom wallpaper on my t509

So for the past hour I've been trying to email pictures to my t509 in a variety of different formats with the goal of setting one as a full screen wallpaper.

As anyone who owns a t509 knows, pictures taken by the phone itself are in the wrong aspect ratio to fill the screen as a wallpaper. Being a semi-perfectionist, I am bugged greatly by this. I am able to email pictures to my phone, but no matter what they all come in at the same size (3kb) and the same resolution, which is smaller than what I need. I even tried making a sub-3kb version that would still fill the screen (VERY low quality), but it came sized down anyways.

My question is this... is there any way to get the pictures that I want to use as wallpapers from my computer to m...

Important question for Reps. Please help me, thank you!

I would like to buy out my t-mobile contract and go on a T-Mobile to-go prepaid account. I am wondering will I get to keep my number when I change over to prepaid?

(Don't get me wrong, I think T-Mobile is wonderful and I am happy with my service, I just can't afford a plan anymore and I will save hundreds by buying out my contract.)

Home / Landline??

Several years ago cell phone companies had a home device that you put your cell phone into and you could use it and extensions as you would a normal land line phone. Is there anything like that out there now?

T-Mobile Blackberry 8700g ..........Excellent Phone

In all fairness since I had significant complaints about the customer service and the delay in obtaining my ordered phone I wanted to comment on the product once I received it from T-Mobile.
The phone eventually arrived, and without any request on my part, T-Mobile voluntarily waived the shipping charges and credited my firm's account with 200 free minutes. Obviously, my preference would have been to receive the phone in a timely manner, but T-Mobile has been very accommodating since the Blackberry has been delivered.
The phone is excellent. The coverage is phenomenal, and the Edge network is vastly superior to my older Blackberry. I have had no dropped calls in the Dallas area and the communication quality has been perfect. ...

Just to clarify...

As someone that worked as a CSR for TMobile for almost 5yrs I feel compelled to address some issues I have with some comments made about CSRs. I assume that most people are logical so I will try to address this to the logical thinking people. I understand that you may "feel" like you are talking to TMobile since you are talking to a representative of the company, but the person you are talking to is someone that is there to get a paycheck in an entry level postion. That doesn't mean they are stupid, uneducated or any of the other negative attributes customers love to throw around when they think they are better than someone else. As a CSR we have absolutely no reason to lie to you because we gain nothing personally from your situation to giv...
