Tmo & contracts. . .

Why is it that Tmo has this idea that they require the extension of a contract when someone wants to modify an account?!!? Contracts are SUPPOSE to be for equipment upgrades !!ONLY!!

With ATT I can make ANY kind of changes +/- to my account at ANY time and it doesn't effect my contract. I have been contract free with ATT for 4yrs, and my mother has been contract free for 6 months.

This is really frustrating, I hate contracts!!!! Contracts are marriage to a business!!! Marriage is suppose to be with a woman, not a business!!! Whatever happened to EARNING a customer rather than binding them to a contract!!!

Contracts are SUPPOSE to be for equipment upgrades ONLY!!! Not rate plan changes.

So my acct is showing a 4 yr tenier.. So the problem is that i lost my phone and didnt have insurance. i upgraded about 5 months ago and now im stuck without a phone. I called T-mobile to see what they can offer me and there was nothing.. Do you guys not give additional discounts for valued customers?

Questions about unlocked phones

I currently have a BB
with the ecomnomic times as they are I'm trying to save as much as possible.
I'm not up for an upgrade. I was looking into getting a cheaper phone and maybe trying to drop the internet down to something cheaper, if not completely. I was looking at some phones online, that are unlocked and can be used with Tmo service. Can I still use the internet and go down from BB data to something cheaper?

The Mystery 0f "Project Dark"

So for those of us PhoneScoopers that frequent tmonews.com, there has been a lot of talk about Project Dark, a seceret t-mobile project that is supposedly meant to launch t-mobile off of the number 4 natinoal cell carrier spot. there have been rumors that it's going to involve a new handset lineup, plan restructuring, rebranding, or all/none of the above. Has anyone heard anything different?

T-Mobile has some big news!

So big that it has a code name "project black" and is supposed to lift T-mobile out of the the number 4 spot among national carriers! (I hear a buyout announcement.) Or maybe this could be a HOAX, who knows. Well i'm going to sit back and see what happens. Here's is the link below:

Project DangerFail

I'm interested to see what will happen at the end of this debacle. It's hard to believe that Danger wasn't more prepared for emergency data recovery.

I wish Danger would provide a courtesy line Sidekick users could call for some sort of compensation... we'll see.

Seeking Phonescoop User Opinions

Hey ya,

Short story; My wife is due for a upgrade and as much as I am considering taking her off T-Mobile (I really want to put her on a service with 3G in our area, T-Mobile doesn't have 3G here yet) I am not canceling out T-Mobile just yet.

I have narrowed it down to 3 phones I think she would enjoy. Here are the current details:

She has MyFaves, Unlimited Text and Data. She has a G1. She has had many phones before (lol, working for T-Mobile had its perks) including such phones as the Wing, the Dash (still a personal favorite), shadow, Behold, Sidekicks and many different non-smartphones.

I would really like to get her into one of them Nokia N series but you cant upgrade to those.

No Blackberries. Yes, I know the value of ...

T-Mobile internet

I am considering getting a GSM unlocked phone and using it for T-mobile. Just wondering which plan would T-mobile charge for Internet. $19.99 (unlimited internet and messages for regular phones) or $35( smartphone unlimited internet and messages). Thanks for the help.

Get Ready for 21Mbps on T-Mobile 3G Next Year

Mobile broadband is a wonderful and glorious invention, giving us the ability to surf the Internet while on the go. This is great not only for smartphones, but also for 3G-connected laptops and netbooks too. The trouble is that the speed offered by today’s 3G networks still isn’t as fast as what we would get through a conventional DSL or Cable connection. That may soon be changing.

We know that network speeds are being bumped up all the time, but it seems that T-Mobile is ready to really push the envelope with its 3G network. More specifically, T-Mobile USA says that its HSPA+ 3G speeds will be getting ramped up significantly in the next year or so, hitting the 21Mbps range at some point in 2010.

To put that in

Is Tmo's 3G network ?really? capable of these sorts of speeds???. . .

My friend Corbin, in Las Vegas, who owns a MyTouch claims he's getting speeds above 7mbps on Tmo's 3G network.

Hmm, I really wonder how accurate his results are. Any MyTouch owners live in Las Vegas getting speeds above 7mbps?
