I'm in the market for a new phone this holiday season and I've narrowed my choices to 2 phones (3 if you want to get technical).

I like the Motorola V710 and the LG VX7000 and am having a tough time choosing 1 over the other. I've read many of the horror stories about the V710, but I don't usually let that sway me in my decisions about electronics (and am happier b/c of it). The only thing I don't like about the LG is the lack of speakerphone, and I'm also unfamiliar with the brand (are they reliable, quality phones?) Which should I go with?

(Also, does anyone have the release date for the LG VX8000... if it's soon I'll probably just wait for it)

im thinking about getting a LG L1400 with Cingular and i am going to get the MEdia Basic can u give me the upsides and the downsides about this phone. It seems real good to me with the OLED on the front and the camera is good i think. Ive heard that when you buy the phone cingular plasters its name all over it. If it is good im gonna get it so can u please tell me how i can fix this with a data cable or somethng

Am new to the cell phone scene. I recently looked at the Audiovox 9900. I've been reading up on other brands too. Here is what I need for starters. Am hearing impaired so need a phone that is telecoil compatible. The 9900 is but does not have side tone, rather unsettling not to hear my voice. I like the buttons too, as I am also blind so cannot see to dial, must do it by touch.
Last week I looked at a LG 4500. Its buttons are almost flat but slightly better than I think the LG 4600.
So anyways, I want to see what else there is to choose from tho the 9900 is impressive but apparently hard to find right now.
To recap, phone must be flip type, telecoil compatible, side tone, tactile buttons, reliable voice dialing. Cant think of anything els...

While talking on the cell phone, i notice an intermittent faint 3-5 second tone in the background. Has anyone else had this problem???

Also, I must say, my V60 sounds much better than this phone.

Hey, I just currently purchased a 7000 and was curious to what the capacity of the picture storage was on the different quality settings.

I have with me an LG's FWT (wireless terminal / wireless phone), model number SP-345 from an ISP. The ISP has also provided a datacable (RJ45 to Serial Port) and a dialer software. My major use of this device is for internet connectivity.

Though the ISP claims 115 Kbps speeds, I have seldom observed that to be the case, except for a few, fleeting moments, when its my extremely lucky day. Most of the time, I manage to scrape by with 0 -> 8 -> 16 -> 8 -> 0 Kbps speeds.

I am using an XP Pro on my machine, with a Celeron 700 / 128 Mb config. I was wondering whether any tweaking at my level with either the dialer software configuration, or the settings on the phone itself, might help?

My Dad is 86 and I am trying to help him with poor cell reception.

My Dad, and everyone he knows on Verizon, has poor cell reception at or near his house in Livermore, CA. He lives at the intersection of College Ave and S. Livermore Ave, 1.8 miles south of the I580 freeway. He has good reception on the freeway, his phone has been replaced several times, and no one he knows on Verizon gets good reception there.

Is there any way to tell exactly how far he lives from a tower? I called CS and they gave me two tower codes (LVMRCAAT and LVMRCAEJ), but she could not get an address or intersection for me.

Does anybody know where I can get a data or mobile office kit ASAP to sync my contact/schedule information from my computer to my LG vx6100?

I looked on verizon's website and they are out of stock for they said who knows how long and some sites say that Data Pilot works with the phone but they don't have the USB data cable and others say it is not compatible at all with the vx6100.


Please advise.

I'm looking to purchase the LG VX6100. From what I can tell it looks like a decent phone. Can anyone tell me how I would go about uploading new ringtones to the phone and where I would get the ringtones? I found a few free ringtones on the Internet that I downloaded to my PC. How would I get those to the phone? THanks for you help!

My VX 3200 arbitrarily chooses to redial the last number I called occasionally (probably about 40% of the time). I finish the normal call, close the clamshell and the last number I dialed will dial itself automatically about 2 minutes later. (Obviously I only know this when I have the headset attached).
Had the unit replaced with a new one today but same thing happening with new unit.
Anyone else had this issue?????

I am currently using an LG vx4400 which I LOVE. Looking for similar but with speakerphone. Do not care about camera's, blue tooth, etc. Need speaker, vibrate, and great reception, & outer display. Noticed my LG gets MUCH better reception than audiovox (8600) Also not too keen on color outside display - hard to see/read.
Any one know of something coming out that fits the bill?? 😉

ok....im getting a new phone hopefully soon, and i know i wont be able to get the v710 or wuteva it is, so im stuck between these two. both have major ups and downs.

from wut i hear, the 5450 w/ alltel wont let u put wallpapers, and ringtones on ur phone w/o text messaging, and requires more time to mod
and the 5550 is on "mini re-call" for problems w/ the screen or something like that. and the color screen isnt as bright

which one would be better? both have around the same features, but i really want to be able to get ringtones and wallpapers (preferably w/o text messaging, cause my parents wont pay for it ☹️). i can do w/o the camera, but it is a big plus in my book. either one would be great to have, but since im not close to the ...

I'm deciding between these 3 phones to upgrade too. the 4600 is back on the Verizon website. Can anyone give me feedback on these 3? I live on Long Island NY, and will use it mostly in the tristate area, and in PA. thank you

OK, I saw it a couple nights ago and cannot find it again. Someone posted (maybe not on phonescoop) that LG may be delaying the VX8000 in order to add Bluetooth to it.

Any truth to this rumor?
