How to get the .90?

I have never done anything like this before. So how? I would download it on my computer than hook my phone to the computer? Do I have to delete the old software first? How do I do that? If I go to a verizon store will they do this for me? Probally not. Jo

OS leak updates and info

I was reading in the Crackberry forums elsewhere where those "in the know" were talking about what's coming up:

looks like .86 will not be officially released by VZW.

.87 was passed up in favor of .86 and .88 at the time

.88 was not a good build according to the insiders that were testing it I guess

.90 exists and may be leaked in a week or so. Many bugs have been said to have been addressed but there are still some camera issues

Hopefully we will see something soon 😁

Is the Storm BMW Integrated Bluetooth compatible?

Has anyone successfully paired the Storm with a BMW with the integrated Bluetooth option? BMW puts out a list of “approved” phones, however I have used phones that were not on the list, and not been able to use phones that were on the list. Go figure. If you were able to pair it, did all the functions work correctly, such as I-drive control, dashboard phonebook, etc? Any help would be appreciated. It may make the difference as to whether or not I “try” the Storm. You know, the best piece of junk out there! Just read the user reviews. LOL Thanks

Getting the Storm TODAY! What can I expect with bugs that persist??

I currently own the 8830 and love it. I've been waiting to get the Storm to allow a few updates and simply because I've been so happy with my current BB.

Basically, I've been reading these forums and doing other research and I believe that I will love the Storm, in fact I think it will become my favorite phone ever.

I'm just curious as to what problems still persist, i.e. freezing, screen being non-responsive, etc.? And how often these problems occur after the lates update?

I consider myself tech savvy and I know there will be an adjustment period. Also, I love the QWERTY style keyboard, so have people found that they get used to using the qwerty or is it easier to adjust to the suretype style?

Thanks in advance for all responses...

Texting??? Data ???

Can someone tell me how it is text messaging using the storm? I currently have a VOYAGER and am thinking of switching to the STORM. Do I have to take the extra package for data with this? If so, what are the price ranges?

Applications

Whats some good sites for applications, free or charge doesn't really matter.

I tried 411 application randomly downloaded from a site, glitched my phone so bad.

Thanks in advance.

Storm OS 4.7.0.86 leaked!

Well, for those that hated .85 we now have .86 to play around with.

As always, this is a leaked operating system and not an official release by Verizon so if you like the latest and hopefully the greatest (crossing my fingers), follow the link.

Use at your own risk 👀

Hope there are some more bug fixes in here!

Storm International Issues

I recently took a trip to Israel and when I landed I turned on my storm to receive the Verizon text message on how to call out. I proceeded to dial a number inside the U.S. with the 001 code for calling to the U.S. However when I called I got a prerecorded message in a language that I did not understand. I talked to Verizon reps before I left and they assured me that I could use the phone in Israel. I was able to send and receive texts/emails/data. Also I was able to receive calls. Does anyone have a clue why I was not able to place calls. I will be traveling again soon and I would like to have this problem fixed.

My 30 take on the Storm

Okay, here's the deal. From the get go, I am pro Blackberry so take this for what it's worth.

At first, it was a bit difficult or maybe I was just lazy, to warm up to the Storm. I have had all the software versions(current is .85).

On New Years Eve, I was playing around with my cousins Pearl and Curve. I have had both and love both....especially the curve. Playing with the Curve brought back old feelings but at the end of the day, I was never so glad to get back to my Storm! Maybe I am getting old but using the querty on the Curve, I just couldn't see it that well in dim light. The Storm just glows in the dark. I found myself making more mistakes on the Curve then the Storm. In actual broad daylight, yes, the Curve wins. For...

Message deleting

Does anyone know how to clear/delete all your messages (SMS) at once? The only thing I found was highlighting a few at once, or whatever is on the screen, and deleting those, but that's obviously tedous. Any help would be appreciated.

Boat Anchor

I have had the privlege to use about 30 phones over the past few years, and by far this one is the worst.
I returned it yesterday and went back to my curve. Wow - forgot how easy and fast using a blackberry was.

While liking the phone at first, it just took too long to do simple things (even lag looking at pics). Making a call should not take 4 clicks -- its a PHONE after all!!

When all is said and done, this first try at a touch screen by BB is good for anchoring a boat. Maybe they'll be something better next fall.
