questions to storm owners

i dont know if its .85 or the phone, but when listening to music with the supplied headset, when the song ends, and the next one starts, it plays louder then the previous song. so then i hit the vol down button, and it goes off (i listen to the lowest volume at work in 1 ear) and then when i hit the vol up one time, its quieter then it was before lol.

this is my first time using the headset.

also, how often does everyone charge their storm? it was full at 830 am today, and now its at 40% (showing 2 bars) i talked for maybe 5 mins total, web for maybe 5 mins total, and music through the headset at lowest volume for maybe an hour.... grrrr i think its .85 software.

And you think the Storm has problems...

Thought people would love to see this. 9:42 seconds of frustration using an HTC product...The Fuze/TouchPro twin 🤣 🤣 🤣

This guy has a heck of a time using it efficiently. I'll stick with my Storm 😁

Storm vs iPhone

I just spent some time on the iPhone forum and it was good to hear their concerns or comments…very interesting. I’ve spent some time on the iPhone and it is really a nice phone w/ great web browsing, video and music playback. Web browsing I give the edge to the iPhone it’s a little more efficient. I like the screen better on the storm for video but the sound from the speakers’ sound better from the iPhone. The YouTube playback is slightly better than the Storm. Every once and a while it’s like the screen pixels explode on the Storm. Both don’t show up that great compared to a computer but the iPhone has the edge and for some reason the audio comes out sounding low from YouTube on the Storm, whereas the iP...

Is the Storm the “best of both worlds” or “a compromise” between tradition B

I am posing this link just to get some good dialogue rather than a heated war.

I believe the iPhone is more of a toy rather than a business phone b/c it is not built as a work phone. I don’t think it is trying to be either. Apple knows that they have their own market. PlayBoyPeguin brought up some interesting points in some dialogue that we had about the iPhone having superior HTML email viewing and web browsing. I thought that the features were slightly better but not what I would call superior. My web browsing is faster on my Storm but I have a better web browsing experience on the iPhone. I am not in agony but I feel more comfortable on the iPhone. So far as HTML emails I have no problem bringing the up on my Storm. On the other h...

Storm OS 4.7.0.83

I cannot load this OS to my phone. I installed the software, deleted the vender file, disconnected from the internet. Desktop manager does not find the software no matter what I do? Can someone help? Is it even worth loading in, is it a big improvment for .75?

Auto Dimming Now Working! Does anyone know a fix?

My auto dimming is not working. Even though I have set my "Automatically Dim Backlight" to OFF, my phone still dims after about 10 seconds.
My Backlight Timeout is set for 2 minutes. I have tried a battery pull several times but that doesn't work. Any suggestions on a fix or workaround? Verizon advises to do a WIPEOUT but I don't want to do that. That maybe more trouble that it's worth. Please advise. Thank you....

Application memory

Is it me, but is anyone else experiencing a problem with the Storm function once the application memory get below 20 or so Mb? I've deleted some of the applications that came with the Storm, and it seems to run better.

Is there a way to use the built in 1gb memory for application memory?

Answering the phone

I am on my third storm with .75 OS. My first two had hardware issues this one seems to be fine so far but still having problems answering the phone like the first two. When a call comes in I have to chase the answer button and after I push it it takes 5 to 6 seconds for the other party to hear me, any one else having these problems?

Adding Contacts (Help)

Is there a way to change the way contacts are added? When I input a number and select "add to contacts" it always defaults to "work number". Is there a way to change the default to mobile? Anyone? Thanks in advance.

Widescreen bars

How can I convert my movies where the black bars for widescreen dont take up as much of the screen. I mean the video playback is great but I only see it on about 1/3 of the screen.

Call Log Multiple-Listing Deletion

On my Storm, might it be your's too? A convenience feature is lacking. From the Call Log field, it is impossible to delete multiple phone numbers. One at a time is all it will do. I did find a remedy, however. Go into your messages or email account... Click on the menu... Click on view folder... then click on phone call logs... you can now touch the top and bottom of the screen (do not click)...The numbers you want to remove will highlight in blue. It is now possible to delete numerous listings at once by clicking on the delete button. I receive dozens of calls a day and after viewing the list, prefer to eliminate them. My Voyager phone has a field to invoke "erase all." This is as close to that as I can find. Hope this info is helpf...

ATTN: All iPhone Fanatics bashing the Storm...

As of 12/17/08 at approx. 8:30 EST, the phonescoop.com user ratings are as follows:

iPhone 3G - 3.65 based on 120 user review/ratings

BB Storm - 3.33 based on 97 user review/ratings

That measly .32 lead in ratings sure doesn't add up when you compare that to all the comments/reviews here from people telling the rest of us that the iPhone is the best phone on the planet! In fact, the Omnia, Voyager and Dare (to name a few) all have higher ratings than the iPhone 3G currently has!

The cold hard truth is that everyone likes phones for different reasons. While one may find that the iPhone is the one, another may find it very disappointing.

And this all leads back to what many of us here have said all along...you just shoul...

SOMEONE HELPPPPPPPP

OK does ANYONE have an issue where if you lock and unlock your phone...the screen keeps turning off then on...about every minute or so? Mine keeps doing it unless I take the battery out then it's fine. But it's f*cking annoying to having to keep doing that!

I have the Voyenger, should I upgrade to the Storm

First of all I'm pretty much a gadget freak. I have been looking at the Storm every since it was announced. I have a HP 211 and IPOD touch, but have nice features but internet and emailing are Wi-Fi driven. Does anyone think that its a good idea to go with the Storm from the Voyenger, changing plans and loosing a couple of features that I really dig about the Voyenger.

Contacts

Does anyone know how to change the add contact feature? What I mean is that when I save a number it automatically saves it as "work phone" so is there a way to make it default to "mobile" instead?

Thanks in advance.
