Picture messaging

Anyone else still having problems sending or receiving picture messages? I've been trying since the 12th & I still can't send or receive pictures or midi files. I get a message that says Network Authentication Failed. Today was the fourth time I've called Verizon about this. Every time they tell me the network is down or the network has been down & there's a bazillion messages backlogged waiting to be delivered. (Slight exaggeration I know) Today she told me that the network has been in and out for a couple weeks now and I asked her wouldn't I have gotten my messages at some point while it was in & she said she didn't know if they actually deliver the backlogged messages or just clear them out. She also had the nerve to tell me you ca...

Ebay chargers

Has anyone bought the car charger or the travel charger off of Ebay? They seem pretty cheap and wondered if they work ok.

If you have bought one, or both, who (Ebay ID) did you by it from so we can know to get it or avoid it?

Has anyone found an expensive desktop charger for the 9900 that works well?

Which other models phone are also compatible with the 9900 for chargers?

Preferences for Receiving/Storing photos

Hi there,

Seems like a good phone so far. I receive Verizon's signal in the DC metro, under the Potomac between L'Enfant Plaza and the Pentagon, so that's pretty impressive too.

Question: How to change the save pict preferences? Currently, if I save a picture from my inbox, the default save directory is: Media Gallery > Images > Graphics. This is stupid.

How can I change this save preference? E.g.: Media Gallery > My Folder > Folder x; or Media Gallery > Photo Gallery?

Thanks.

how bad is the lcd?

How bad is the sub-lcd on the phone? All I want to see is the time, date and maybe the picture ID. Can someone give me a good idea as to how much I can see on the sub-lcd? Also, how is the battery life compared to a v60? thanks in advance

car charger

Is there actually a car charger for the 9900 at the verizon stores? Because I was told at the verizon store that I go to that the one for the 8400/8900 is the right one, yet the silver plug that goes into the phone is too long. Thanks.

removing Verizon logo

These directions come from HowardForum:

CDM9900 Tip#2: How to remove "Verizon Wireless" on CDM9900
I was playing around with the phone's setup menu (289#1) and
was able to get this to work:
1) Turn phone On.
2) Within a few seconds type: 289, press left soft key, #, 1
3) "NAM 1 Setting?" Choose Yes
4) Scroll down to "ERI Setting?" Choose Yes.
5) Where it says "ERI Change Enable", type in 0, scroll down a few times to make sure the 0 stays there.
6) Press the left directional key once and scroll down 5 times to "General Settings". Choose Yes.
7) Go to "Idle Banner Settings". Choose Yes.
😎 Type in anything you want...or LEAVE BLANK. Click OK.
9) Scroll down 10 times and get back to "NAM 1 Setting?" Press the Green Vad "send" k...

Removing Verizon Logo on outer screen

OK I followed the instruction to remove the verizon logo that shows up on the outer screen when I get a call. What I'm scared of: I've heard stories of how doing manual reprograms can screw things up. Are there any side effects of doing this? Or does it strictly affect the outer LCD during a received call, and nothing else?

Only disappointment with the 9900...

I can't change the key beep volume or turn off key beeps while keeping ringer on! I can't stand the sound of a key beep every time I type a key, but I also want to have my ringer on. Am I just missing the place where I can change this, or did Audiovox not include that option?

Space full..?

I was making Mp3 ringers and sending them to my phone.. I only have 2 on there about 150kb each.. I sent another one the same size, when I tried to save it it said "Memory full", does this mean I can only have 2 mp3 ringers.. I deleted all my pics and and videos and it still says not enough memory.. Also When I assign a pic it still stays in my photo gallery, but its using my 6.5mb memory and not the regular photo memory right?

hinge on 9900

I am probably just overanalyzing this, but I have had/used my 9900 for about 10 days now. I just noticed that the hinge on it has some play (probably less than 1mm) side to side when the phone is opened partially (about half way) all the way up until it clicks into place. Probably normal-if there was no play, the hinge would not be easy to open. Just checking to see if others have the same play in the clamshell hinge. Thanks to all who respond.

Frequent Call List

My previous phone had a feature where it kept a easily accessible list of numbers you call most frequently, sorted in order of the most frequent. I can't find this on the 9900. I know it has a recent call list and quick dial keys, but my wife and I are in the habit of using a frequent caller list. Am I missing something?

Durability, functionality, and Is it better?

currently i have a lg 7000 and i was comparing to this audiovox. Which phone do you think is better. I looked at the audiovox in the store and it doesn't seem as durable as the lg. Is this true? Is this the 1st audiovox that uses toshiba parts etc? How functional is the audiovox? I was told by the saleperson that the previous model of the audiovox was recalled twice which is making me a lil apprehensive about getting this model phone. Any info would help. thanks

Sub-LCD - Keep on???

Is there a way to keep the sub lcd on while the phone is open? It sucks not being able to see what time it is when you're talking to someone. 😳
