Motorola V710

Hi, this is probably a dumb question, but after VZW fried my old phone during a software update, I got a new handset which seems to have been improved. Only issue I have so far is HOW COME I CAN'T SEE THE CONTACT CATEGORIES WHEN I "SCROLL" THROUGH THEM? My old handset, I could see what list I was looking at (vip, Personal Business, etc.). Now when I scroll through them, the heading is always Contacts.

Anyone know what the problem is or how to fix this?

I cant realy use my BT headset that much because my battery will die quickly after taht. If i look at a video thats like 20 mins long... my battery will be almost dead soon after that. If I talk for a long time like 1 hr or a little less, my battery will be dying soon after that. My question is, if i get a new battery, will it affect the flash update? Or will any battery die quickly since the update?

Is there a way to keep the front display bright, without it goin into dark mode. Thanks

anyone had any expierience with them they make stuff for the military the feds and the police i alreadxy know some bluetooth headsets wont work with the 710(jabra 800)was just wondering please let me know thanks

I think its a waste of an upgrade. Its just looks. It seems like it has no on/off button or boom. So it will always be in standby and draining battery. Nice try to make more money MOTO, but i'll stay with my HS810 Boom Mic headset.

can the mini screen on the front of this phone display a picture?

Is there a way that you can keep the mp3 file in your memory card and use it as your ringtone?

Recently i just received 128mb transflash card for my motorola v710 but i am unaware as to what the capabilities of this device are and how to use it on my phone. If someone could explain the basic principles of this device and what other things i need with it and how to use it on my phone i would really appreciate it. Thank You!

This site has real phone mounts, not these generic vent clip universal thingies.
I just ordered one for my V710, it will fit into the dash perfectly.
Find your model vehicle, then select your model phone. THey give you the tools to install it with, these kits are self install, you dont need to spend tons of money, and it looks great once its installed.
See for yourself. You dont need to drill any holes, or stick anything to your dash with tape, or glue anything. Check it out.

Just got the V710. I have been using 3GUpload.com to get all my ringtones and wallpapers on my previous phones. When I got the V710 I changed my account and added the new phone. It says the phone is compatible with their services.

The way it works is that you select a ringer and u get a txt message wth the download attached. I have no trouble getting the txt message but everytime I go to download the ringer from the txt it says unable to download.

Is this another one of those things that you have to hack the phone to be able to do?

I have a tans flasch card and im trying to find the easiest step by step way to have mp3s as ringers.

most ppl i have talked to claim the v710 is better than the vx8000. if this is so then why is the 8000 more expensive? is it because it is newer than the v710? is there anything better about the 8000 besides the camera?

i have a moto v710 that is with alltel. no gsm just a digital cell. my company is moving to cingular and i just bought the phone and many acc. i need the unlock code for the phone. where is the best place to get the code. everwhere i have looked it is for gsm or sims cards. please help

Does it have picture caller ID on the external screen?

Recently i was looking at Motorolas bluetooth headset page and they got rid of all of them but 2 they added 1 and kept one and the rest have vanished they are suppose to come out with the H500 which i am very much so waiting for.

Is there any way to have a random ringtone feature, that say, whenever you get a call, no matter who it is, the ringtone would be different each time? I have a bunch of mp3 ringtones, and I get called from certain people more than others, and would like to hear all the ringtones I have, not just certain ones here and there.

So, is there a way, so that when people call, I get a different ringtone each time?

Can anyone tell me how to enable being notified of an incomming call when I am on the phone on another call? I do not get any tone that there is an incomming call, just a message notification or a missed call notification. Is there a setting for this that I'm missing? I am not using a bt headset at the time.

Just purchased my new v710 and of course I have questions. I live in Rochester, NY and they were out of Mobile Phone Tools for my model at time of purchase. I would like to synchonize my Outlook contact list with the v710's phonebook. Can this be done via Bluetooth? Is software available anywhere via download? Is it true that Motorola is coming out with a replacement model in another month that unrestricts bluetooth file transfers to this phone?

I'm not at home and can't test it, but anyone else want to confirm or deny that this works. There are some questions as to whether this works with Contacts or only iCal events (useless for me).

Note: Please read the comments. The directions apparently are not enough. You must replace the hex code after the usb-bt part, too.
