Motorola V710

hi can anyone help me in finding a way to change the access shop (Altell) inside the phone to Get It Now (verizon) shopping cart icon. I tried changing the software to the verizon (8700_01.40) one but it didn't change to the shopping cart icon inside.

My old computer crashed and I have been unsuccessful in installing MPT to my new laptop. The error message says that there was an error and that the device may not work properly. The v710 shows up in device manager, but with the dreaded yellow question mark. I bought the product off Ebay. I want to use my phone as a wireless modem. 😢 😢

My last cell phone broke. (LG VX4500) I am now looking at this phone, and have some questions. First, do u like this phone? and would u recommend it? next, does this phone have speakerphone while the phone is closed? and also what is the current retail on this phone without a contract? thanks for ur help.

Well my NE2 started on June 13th so as an anxious phone user I needed to get a new phone . Going from a Vx6000 I wanted bluetooth. After spending several hours on phonescoop and Hofo and waiting for the E815 to arrive I decided to get the v710 and see what people were actually talking about. I got it for free since its 149-100(for NE2)-50 rebate. The phone is nice the screen is awesome the sound is loud and the camera sucks as everybody mentioned. I just don't understand why there is a static view when viewing through the camera its like watching bad TV with static. The manues are ok but going from LG where the phonebook for 1 person is simpler looking as opposed to having 3 different ones listed in a row in MOTO. The speakerphone rocks...

I got my 4th replacement V710 the other day ... so my normal process to replace my ringers is just to email about 10 of them to my phone from my laptop.

The first set I did worked out fine.

But yesterday I sent a few more ... instead of arriving as MP3 files (as I had sent them) they arrived as QCP files.

Is Verizon doing something to change files sent TO your phone??

add my own custom ringtones. The new software does NOT allow you to transfer data from the trans-flash card...you can move stuff to it, but not back. It will also NOT allow you to send files from the trans-flash...the options are not there. I tried emailing the song clips via vtext.com, but it compresses them so much they sound like crap. My buddy with an older software V710 CAN text me his ringtones, which is the only way I've found to do this. I was able to confirm from a Moto rep that Verizon did request this feature removed from their software, so it will probably be the same for the E815 when it is released. Please let me know if you have any solutions for me. Thanks!!! 😉

Shouldn't the jabra bt800 be compatible with the v710 I am having a lot of problems with using it.

Is anyone else familiar with loosing the connection when moving pictures from the phone to computer via the cable? Any help is appreciated...

First off, I'm not real phone savvy, but when shopping for phones recently, the Bluetooth features of the V710 caught my fancy.
I approach the many features with a "little at a time" method. Lately I was figuring out the camera function and assumed that I could treat it like a digital camera. Get a data cable and Presto!.... Nope, no Presto! It seems that to get a photo to my computer, I have to send it to a Verison service and then pay to download it or some such.
Say it ain't so! Am I missing something? Read the book, watched the DVD, if there's another way, I'm missing it...help!

Just switiched to Verizon from Cingular and bought the V710 based on feedback re reception quality, which was problem where I live with Cingular. Dealer at Circuit City had to go to backroom to get the phone, which they no longer display...

Question: I've read advice to be sure I get the latest V710, post-recall. Is there a way to tell from the sticker/serial number about this? Thx.

unfortunately VZW has locked the transflash copy this allows you to copy mp3s from the card to the phone to use as ringers BT has also been crippled as you prob kno

I am coming from sprint and a sanyo pm8200. And I was wondering wich of the three phones listed above is the best. Can you buy an extended battery for the v710, if so what is the life extended to. thanks in advanced.

How do i get them step by step

Just got my 710 and so far I like it,but I get people telling me they hear themselves(like an echoe) sometimes when I'm on speakerphone.My end sounds loud and clear-it's only on the other end this happens. It seems to happen at random.I changed the volume up and down and it does it at all,but more on higher settings. I have the 1 40 OR version. Anyone have any answers. could find much on a search. Thanx

can someone please post a STEP BY STEP guide on how to convert movies to fit onto the V710..I MEAN EVERY DETAIL, EVERYTHING!!
