Samsung SGH-P207

I've had mine for about a month, and it broke yesterday. You know how it freezes every now and then...yeah, mine did that. Permanently. It's an unreliable model. I heard that from a Cingular rep. That's why they never sold it in stores. Cingular also has it on backorder, so when it breaks, you have to get an entirely different phone. And you don't get to chose this new phone either. They just send you some other phone with comparable features. So if you buy it, good luck.

p207 vs moto v551

I am looking at both of these phones and I was wondering if anyone has any opinions on whether which is better? Which has better reception? Also, can you place a pic as your wallpaper on the external screen? Thanks.

is there anyway to get free wap on this phone, or any cingular phone for that matter? or is it all pay per use?

First off, some of the pictures I have taken have been locked. How can I unlock them so that I can delete them?

Also, is there anyway to make the outside LCD screen display something other than the Cingular background? I'd rather have it plain white or something.

I just got the P207 and I am looking to get some rigntones for it. What are some sites I can go to to get some good music/voice ringtones. I am willing to purchase them but free is always better. The MP3 capability that it has.....does that mean I can download my stored MP3's from my desktop computer onto my phone? If so HOW?

I've seen a bunch of responses about a DUN #777 and it allows internet access, but how , is it free , how much does it cost , I use to have a Sanyo MM-5600 but lost it at the mall along with my purse , Sprint sent me a Samsung A800 because the Sanyo was out of stock , let me just say that this phone is amazing , its so cute and pretty and sexy , but enough about me...Just Kidding ! But if anyone can teach me or help me in my predicament I would greatly appriciate it considering everyone here on this website is very educated in cellular phones and services. Thanks in advanced.

Monday afternoon I came across the P207 and really liked it so decided I wanted it. I just joined Cingular in December via cingular.com from ATT and they sent 3 v220's for my brother, father and I. After my mother saw the V220 she loved it and wanted one. A few weeks later the Sony Z500A came out so I said mom you can have my v220 and i will just add a new line and get the z500a since it was always the phone I wanted but it was never out. I order the phone a few weeks down the road when i get the money for it and then I get and I like it but then ..as it always goes something better came out in the form of the v207. since it wasnt 30 days yet i was going to trade it in but they wouldnt send me the phone unless i sent the other back or i...

i have no data cable for it and i have a pic and a couple ringtones sent to my phone and i am wondering on how to download them. for the ringers it says the file is to big?? never had a problem with any other phone.
the pic i can get to see it visually but i cant download it to save it to my phone.

To check the outside time on the display while the phone is closed hold the volumn button down for about 5 second it works fine for me

For those who have ordered over the phone through CS....is the price the same as the online price? Or is it different? If it is different, what is the phone order price?

I just got this phone yesterday. When someone leaves me a voicemail it says so when I open it, but after that notification there's no way of knowing if I have a voicemail. On my old Motorola V400, an envelope remained at the top until I checked it. Does this phone not have anything like that?

When will this phone be available in stores?

Last week Cingular took my order of three P207's and sent me three P777's instead for the same price (P777's go for $299 w/2 year activation right now, but they only charged me $79 each for them). Well, on Friday a co-worker of mine ordered three phones, one of them being a P207. Today he called to confirm what shipped because the online system made it look like only one SIM shipped. The rep confirmed not only that all three SIMs shipped, but also that the P207 wasn't in stock and so they sent him a P777 instead for the P207 price.

So, I guess if you really want a P777 but don't want to pay the $299 price for it, just order the P207 and you'll get a P777 for $79! Of course, I have no clue if this is consistent or how long it will last...

Do anyone know what the real price is going to be for a current cingular subcriber. I really want this phone. I have tried calling sales, but all they did was give me the rung around. I see that someone said 179.99, but is that with a 1 year contract or what? One thing I know for sure, it that they did tell me that it would be in stores in a month. I would greatly appreciate the info. 🙂

I've heard that you can upgrade your phone if you had your contract and phone with you for a year. Well it's been a year and I'm damn tired of the Sony Ericsson T226.

Buuuut, I went to one of those Cingular stores and they say I have to wait until October until I can upgrade with a discount. The heck? It would be about 1 year and 6 months sometime this May. They said you had to wait for 21 months until you can upgrade (with some sort of discount)

pleeease tell me that they're wrong! Cause this phone looks really spiffy and I don't nescessarily want to pay full price on it.

i will say that i have been a cingular customer for over 5 years and this is the worst customer service has ever been. i have had some decent representatives but some of them mess things up for the next person u talk to. i have been calling since april 15th tons of calls. they sent me the wrong phone when i called to get the right one guy must have said i was an att customer and the next sales guy tried to charge me for delivery and full price for the phone. so when you call you have to make sure you explain exactly what happened and why and ask questions as of why its that much or not that much because if not you be messed up. i like cingular here in NC its good but enough is enough sometimes...( and i still didnt get the phone i wanted bu...

Just got it, and the sound quality is no better than the e317 I have. The sound is VERY low even at high volume. When you do the voice commands you can hardly hear the lady asking you what you want to do. Unless you really want the speech to text, dont spend the money. The inside screen is however much clearer than the e317, but for that its not worth it. Just so everyone knows.

does it have a headset jack? Thanks for the info.
