Motorola SLVR L7

OK So my friend got "this" phone off of ebay, thinking it was an authentic Motorola Slvr L7, I noticed a few things on it, which leads me to believe its a fake.

1.)Its the pink version, but its a different shade of pink than the one sold by cingular.
2.)its shell is made of plastic rather than metal.
3.)on the key pad, the numbers are a bit raised, and there are odd symbols on the keys.(maybe chinese ??)
4.)the memory card slot is on the side rather than behing the battery.
5.)The motorola logo on the top of the screen is smaller than on the one sold by cingy.
6.)around the phone(on the side) is a black ring, is there supposed to be a black ring at all??

connect my slvr to my home network to use my home's internet on my phone? It would have to be through usb, but I know that you can use my phone to act as a modem for a computer, but what about the other way around...?

Can I get music onto my SLVR (with the data cable it comes with) in MP3 format tht I already hae so I won't have to pay with iTunes?

how do i take out the memory card?
and how can i use my ringtones as a text message alert?

I'm ready(finally) to upgrade to a new phone and the slvr looks good. One thing I'm worried about it how long the battery lasts. I have friends who have RAZR's and the battery life turns to crap in just a few months. Do any of you have any problems with the SLVR and the battery(or other problems?) Thanks so much!

It took me a little while to figure this out but here it goes. The SLVR has two different music playing devices. One is a digital music player the other is the itunes player. mp3's you are using as ringtones can only be played in the digital music player and vice versa with mp3's listed in your itunes player. i suggest cutting down your mp3's to short clips of the songs since you aren't going to be hearing the entire song in a ringtone. i don't know how to do that but maybe someone can reply with a advice in that matter. ive read in one of your posts on here that the reason i cant seem to send or reiceve picture messages etc maybe cos i need to hook up to the net..i tried to go on net just now and it wont connect..so i guess im not activated....

I bought a new SLVR L7 (The unlocked non-iTunes international version) and went to the cingular store to sign up. They signed me up really quickly, and I was happy... until I make my first phone call.
My friend, whom I never had reception issues with in the past, said to me on my first phone call to her with my new phone, "wow you sound like **** now, I dont like your new phone".
ugh!

I delt with it for about a week, having MANY DROPPED calls... really bad reception, people not hearing me, me not hearing anyone... even at times it seemed like my phone froze up (kinda like a frozen PC when it crashes) and I couldnt hang up a call - I had to power cycle the phone just to get it to hang up one time!

Hello im looking for a used razr any condition just not broke. something kinda cheap any color. i have a slvr and i want a flip phone i really miss my razr. i know it would be a downgrade if i went back to my razr but im really thinking about it my slvr is almost brandnew i have had a case on it since day 1 and i have had it since aug. if anyone has an BRAND NEW razr i may be willing to do a even trade. i know its not ebay.im also willing to take any other new flip phone for trade or sale with cingular wireless but if anything let me know thanks.

Advanced Audio Distribution Profile or A2DP is not available on SLVR. It is the profile that allows streaming audio from phone to headset. The KRZR and RIZR does or will support the profile according to the specs read on Phonescoop.

My question is, is there any hope or any way that there will be an option to upgrade the software for the SLVR to include A2DP as a supported bluetooth profile?

I am currently very happy with the SLVR and although I've yet to see the KRZR (clamshell)and RIZR (slider), I believe I'd still choose the SLVR over the two, because I prefer the (candybar). Anyway...I'd really like to go wireless when I listen to music. So hopefully there is a way to upgrade to A2DP

I am having the most difficult time finding out for how long or how many voice-memos the slvr well hold; or if I can save them to the memory card. Someone please let me know. Thank you.

This keeps happening to me and it's getting very frustrating - can anyone help?

I'll be in the middle of creating an outgoing text message when an incoming txt msge will come in and delete everything I had just typed out!

when I start over, if another incoming msge comes in, it gets deleted again!
