Motorola SLVR L7

When i try to connect to the Computer via USB something odd happened. At first it read it as a removable disk, but when you open the root...there were no folders in the root. Then we tried it again, then the folders did show up, but we recieved an error when trying to open the folders or when trying to drop files into them.

Also...Itunes did not read the device. When the device was connected, itunes popped up, but the phone was not read. Same with Windows Media Player 11, it would show up as "Motorola Phone", but it would refuse to sync with the device.

I then took the phone to my friends computer where it worked perfectly...and we did the exact same process on both computers. Both Windows XP and itunes.

okay i know im not tripping out here. this is my second itunes phone. the rokr if memory serves me correct transfered songs exactly like my ipod. where i check the songs i want in my library or playlist and go to update.

my slvr for some reason not updating. do i have to keep dragging song by song to my slvr?

how do i transfer music?

Hows the 3gp video quality for the phone? Does it lag alot like the rokr?Can it actually fast foward?

I was wondering if there is a way to put more than 1 number per contact but without making it appear twice in the list. What am saying is that with my nokia 3650 i was able to have two number under the same name in my phonebook list. Now with my SLVR i can add number but it create an other contact of the same name and if i want to had a picture or some infos, i have to make it for both numbers 😕 😕 😕

Hey all. Can anybody help me with this problem?

When I connect my L7 to my computer with the USB cable, it immediately shows up as another drive in Windows Explorer so I can add MP3's & stuff. During this time it is showing the "Do not disconnect" screen on the phone. But about 20 seconds after connecting the USB, the phone disappears from Windows Explorer so I can no longer move files to & from the phone. If I choose Refresh on Explorer it doesn't find the phone again.

My screensaver kicks in, but after a minute or two the screen goes totally blank. It is rather tough to tell if the phone is on or off, short of pressing a key.
Is there a way to have the screensaver on indefinetely?

The address book has entries for both the SIM card and phone memory. Is there a way to display only the numbers saved with the phone memory?

And if not how do I back up the SIM card numbers to my computer and delete them from my address book so I only see one entry when I scroll for a number.

I have a Tekkeon mini headset that I absolutely love and I can't for the life of me get it to pair with my new SLVR L7. I'm thinking maybe the SLVR doesn't support 1.1 or 1.2? Is there maybe a way to get it to work with my headset, or am I going to end up shelling out another $50+ for a new headset?

hi there, i just got my phone in the mail. i bought it primarily for an mp3 player. I'm dissapointed it doesn't have itunes ☹️. It also came with 128 mb card. Any suggestions? Which one is better with or without itunes? thanks

hey is there a way to reset this phone so its back to original factory specs/settings to setup like a new one? Was given this L7 and I try the master clear and theres still settings and things leftover from previous owner.

Cingular phone support was no help ☹️

What is the easiest way to record dictation? I thought the L7 came with a dictaphone application for this purpose but mine did not. Does anyone know a way to download the dictaphone app or perhaps a third party app is available.

I can record voice using message or multimedia but it is tedious and awkward.

okay, i've got the SLVR and the three skins that come with it...moto, neon, & techno...i was wondering if there was a way to get the skins from the RAZR onto my SLVR...i want scarlet and silver from the v3 but i have no idea how to do it...can anyone help me?

I already failed at trying to make a mp3 a ringtone. But I wanted to transfer one of the videos I from my phone to my computer so I did the process of connecting the phone to my computer. I went to my computer just like when I did my ringtone thing. I looked through all the folders in "mobile" and they are all empty I noticed this before but I just wanted to ask this question now. Any thoughts? Is it even possible to transfer videos? If not , how do people get videos from their phones to thier Pc's.

Ok so I made a list of 100 mp3's I added them all to the phone in itunes to be copied to the phone. Instead of 100 It only copied 87. It seams like the phone wont added the rest. Its the exact songs. I try to drag them to put them in the phone. I get the X symbol that it cannot drop. Is there a reason its taking a certain mp3s and not others?

I've set up picture IDs for certain people in my phonebook but their picture does not display when they call me. Anyone know how or if this is possible with the SLVR? Thanks in advance!

Is there a way to replace the greeting above the date that says 'cingular' constantly? It's rather annoying, and I've heard that there is a way... yet I can't figure out how. Thanks!

I want to store videos on my phone in 3gp format, is this possible? I purchased an external memory card but i now need a good piece of software to convert avi/mpeg/wmv files into 3gp format. I have tried it but the one i used when you play the file on your phone it just says "Image too large". Thanks everybody
