8130 in Sprint

Hi all,

New to the Sprint Boards. I was a VZW user for a long time, but my signal has become increasingly unreliable. They have tried swapping my device, and it is becoming evident that they aren't going to get it resolved. I have had friends at the house who are on Sprint and have a much better signal than I ever get.

My question is for those of you who are using the 8130 have you seen better, same, or worse reception on that device? Also, what are your general thoughts on the battery life and call quality?

Thanks

Dumbest thing that Sprint charges is....

Picture mail! You have to pay $5 dollars if you want to send and receive pictures. Plus KB charge. Ridiculous. Why dont they just include sending picture with a text plan like verizon and other companies. I have sprint service, this just bugs me. But wait if you want to send pictures and receive pictures without the KB charge you can go on a vision package for $15 which is even more ridiculous. Does anybody else see something wrong with this? JW.

Questions for mottelerj or any other knowledgeable reps:

I have 5 lines. I am currently paying the $20/for unlim texting for the account but didn't know if there were any discounted rates for all lines to have vision as well? I hate paying $15 per phone just so my parents can send pics....I thought I could pay just $5 and get pics but I was told it still charges you per kb....is that true? I know they used to charge add-subs 1/2 price for vision, do they still do that? Thanks

Sprint no answer transfer INSTEAD of voice mail?

I just got my new work issued Sprint phone (a Sanyo SCP-7050) and would
like to set up a no answer transfer to my landline office phone. In
other words, INSTEAD of going to Sprint voice mail after 4 rings, I want
the caller to be transferred to my desk (which has voice mail).

I know this is NOT the same as call forwarding, and suspect someone with
access to the switch would need to set this up. I'm pretty sure this
isn't something that can be done from my phone with any kind of *xx
code, right?

I've asked our account rep about this, but she replied with instructions on how to call forward, which is not the same thing.

I read in a forum somewhere that this could be done, but now can't find
where I saw it.

Thanks,
...

Who do I contact about coverage in Superior, Wisconsin?

I looked at the online map, and a good chunk of Superior, WI is not covered, while across the bridge in Duluth, Minnesota, the coverage is pretty good.

Any chance of the coverage improving soon in Superior??

SPRINT LIES! actual email from rep

Please note that
effective 12/31/07, Sprint stopped charging :

- $1.55 Federal Programs Cost Recovery Fee
- $0.40 Federal E911
- $0.15 Federal Wireless Local Number Portability
- $1.15 Service Fee
- $1.99 Account Infrastructure Fee

The only charge on the account will be:

- 0.20 Regulatory Charge - This charge recovers costs associated with
regulatory mandates (such as FCC CPNI regulations).
- $0.75 Administrative Charge - This charge partially offsets switched
and special access costs.

I was charged
2.75 Regulatory fee plus a whole slew of other city/state taxes that finally equaled 19.00.

good luck on someone buying spint

we have 94 billion in assets, i dont think a purchase like that could go through, sprint would have to break it up into smaller divisions before someone could purchase us dont you think?

i've figured it out

So you want to know why sprint charges $5 for picture mail... or what ever else the price is we charge for something that someone else has for free or cheaper...? Well the answer is simple really, because they can. Oh and because they allow practically everyone and their brother to get service with little or no deposit requirement.

So as you've figured out this post is not necessarily being nice. BooHoo im tired of people whining and complaining wanting everything in creation to be free just cause joe blow down the street has it for free. If they are so great go back to them and get it for free then!

Blackberry vs Muziq

I am thinking about ditching my 8130 for the Muziq. The BB has no good themes or backgrounds, The Muziq seems to have alot of animated icons and a better menu set up. Any suggestions?

Are there any dealers in here, i got a couple questions

Hi, how are yall doing?

These questions are for dealers, so consumers take a walk.
To my fellow dealers past and current im wondering what you all think of sprint? I have a few master agents offering sprint and i looked at there commision sheet and it all looks preety good, it looks like alot of stock has to be kept but good variety something for everyone, the upgrade part is a little confusing but we are figuring that out. Im just curious what you all think about there service, commisions and customer service. Our business currently is Boost and Ampd and used, refurbished and new phones for all carriers. Now most dealers can admit there faults and there good areas, like Ampd, most know there customer service is horrible. Be that as it m...

I hate my phone.

Ok...So I have the Katana II, and I think, FOR MY PURPOSES, its the worst phone ever, but at the time, it was all i could afford.

Im 4 months into my contract, and haven't bothered talking to customer service yet, and I don't want to cheat them, or call and "cancel" to get my way....I just don't think thats right.

But is there anyway I can get even a small discount on a new phone?

I know ebay and stuff like that is possible, but I really don't trust ebay.

Any nice people with good suggestions would be wonderful!

Thanks,

Cheetos

The Contract Game

I read that you could buy your phone outright and get no commitment in Consumer Reports, the Jan or Dec issue. At least, that's what I read.

Further studies conducted by me calling customer support for each carrier gave me THIS information:

Sprint: will make you sign a two year commit if you bring in your own sprint phone. (Jerks.) So if you plan on signing up, at least get a free phone with your two year contract, then switch out the phone and sell it on ebay.

Alltel: will let you on a current price plan with no commitment. (This company has some things going well for them.)

T-Mobile: They will make you sign a one year agreement if you bring in your own phone. OR you can do "Flexpay", where you just pay the first month outright....

Billing?

Does everyone else with Sprint get over charged on their bill every month? I'm getting tired of this ****. Every month I have to call in to get this fixed. It gets credited back after a long wait with customer service, but what about my time. What is the deal with this card I received that said some taxes are no longer required, so Sprint will now charge more for cost of doing business. Can I get out of my contract because of this?

Cool Accesory for Pearl!

They just demoed it at work. Called the Impatica Showmate Projector for BlackBerry. The ShowMate device is a tiny, lightweight black box that connects the BlackBerry either thru Bluetooth, or with a USB data cable to any VGA device including projectors, monitors, and TV screens.

It allows you to project graphical Microsoft PowerPoint presentations directly from the BlackBerry without the use of a laptop or desktop computer. The Impatica ShowMate projects PowerPoint presentations, retaining all charts, graphs, images, animations, transition effects, hyperlinks, and alot more stuff. Its $229.99 tho 😕
