Sanyo 7050

Just recieved the 7050s. Not bad but fairly basic. It will appeal to a lot of people who want a tough phone without a lot of bells and whistles (but does have bluetooth!)

The best part is when you turn it on it says "Sprint: Power Up," not all that amazing but then when you turn it off it says "Sprint: Powere Down!!!" At least I thought it was amusing. 🀣

WiMax Question

We all know Sprint's dedication to WiMax, but do they intend to continue EVDO Revision. I kinda wonder if other carrier don't go for WiMax, who will Sprint have to roam off of for Data? And how big can the WiMax network be if that is the case?

Samsung Upstage Opinions

The new upstage is coming out..well beginning of april, which is 1 week away. So I wanted to know will any of you get it?? and if so why? Right now I have the Sanyo M1 and the features and stuff seem more better than the upstage. Is it true that the samsung upstage has an internal battery that you cant take out??

Blackberry or Treo Syncing with Outlook Calendars Question...

Okay all you brainiacs, got a question.

I have a customer that works for two companies so he needs access to two email accounts. No problem there, I know both the Treo and Blackberry can both handle multiple email accounts. Here's the kicker:

Is it possibble to sync the calendars from TWO outlook accounts into ONE calendar on a device? If so can it be done on both the Treo AND the Blackberry, or will one do it better than the other???

An answer for my customer will result in a new act for my store so anyone's help is appreciated and prompt responses will earn bonus points!!!

Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

Some more Wimax information (look if you would like)

Just wanted to touch a little bit more with regarding Sprint and their Wimax.
They have 98 MHz on average in each major market in the 2.5 GHz area compared to only 36 MHz in their 1.9 GHz area, so you can see how much bandwidth they have. Of course, after clearing, they will not have 98 MHz but it will be close enough to have a very very fast high-speed data network.

Here is an interesting fact about Wimax; β€œGlobal WiMAX infrastructure spending will rocket from $655m today to $7.36bn by 2009, just three short years away, according to a brand new report from Rethink Research. WiMAX spending will go from 22.5% of all broadband wireless spending in 2006 to be the dominant platform in the market, with a 63% share. This is the first piece o...

Samsung M500 vs Sanyo 8400

H πŸ˜•

My trusty 8300 finally bit the dust so I went to my local sprint store yesterday to get an upgrade.

I walked out with the M500 for $80 and a $30 MIR.

I've had the phone for a couple days now it's nice having such a thin phone but no speakerphone and ringtones are not nearly as loud or clear as my 8300. Now that I read the comments here about poor battery life I'm thinking maybe I made the wrong choice.

Do you guys think its worth and extra $20 in hand and $30 rebate to go from the M500 to the 8400? Or am I just feeling this way since this is my first non-sanyo phone in 4 years.

Mobile and Fixed Wimax (Some additional Information and my view)

I can’t sleep so I wanted to share some additional information with regarding Fixed and Mobile Wimax.

As you guys know Sprint is going to be spending $2-5 to $3B by 2008 on this network and will target more than 100 million customers within the next few years. Their 2.5 GHz spectrum portfolio as you guys know is 85% in the top 100 markets. Their spectrum includes the following areas; Seattle, Portland, majority of California, majority of Nevada, Denver, Colorado Springs, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, KC, West Palm, Tampa, Sarasota, North Carolina, most of Alabama, Pittsburg, Indy, Boston, providence, NYC, Philli, NJ, DC, and there are others.
This platform is obviously lower in both CAPEX and in Cost-Per-bit. Some research has mentioned...

Must Read: For all Palm Treo 700p users or wannabes (not meaning RC)

Okay so I do a lot of phone switching, and after trying the Treo 700wx for a good amount of time I can officially say its junk.

Sales people (me being a former one) please let customers know that a majority (a large majority) of programs will not work on the Treo 700wx. Reason being, look at an Ipaq or a PPC 6700, 6800. The first thing that will grab your eye is that larger screen. WELL GUESS WHAT! Most programs are written for that larger screen. Making the Treo 700w/wx useless. Or atleast hard to get software for.

But on to the bread and butter of this post:

I switched now to the Treo 700p and wow!!! The software support is phenomonal.

My personal must have list:

HandZipper: unzip files on your pda direct from the browser

I was talking to a Sprint Rep at one of our locations today and he told me something about a new phone that samsung is releasing pretty soon called the F300. I work at our Cingular location so I don't know a whole lot about it. I'm wanting to replace my fusic. Can anyone tell me about it and if it is going to be good? Thanks!!!

keeping old plans with new phones

Just wondering how easy that would be; no, I'm not looking for corporate to respond "you must upgrade your plan when upgrading your phones." As VZ indirect, I can go around that on alot of occasions.

Possible? likely? Love the old F&F plans with 100 extra min. for $5, dislike the service in my area. Considering staying if I can keep my plan.

Upstage Battery life

Let me clear something up here for all the naysayers who are already accusing this unreleased device of poor battery life.
I have held a working model of this phone in my hands and talked with the Samsung Rep who was using it in beta and gave us a complete presentation on this phone. The battery life on this new phone was told to be up to 16 hours of music use. 3 to 3.5 hours of talk time. Way way better than my 940(music wise). I know. How can it be? I'll tell you. The Flip Case for this phone (it snaps onto the device) has a 900mil-ahmp(sic) battery in it. Yes folks, it comes with two batterys (Maybe, it could be optional, but I believe it is included). It is a very slick package and I can't wait to pair it up with my BT headphones. Don'...
