Possible Evidence Of USCC Palm Centro???

I'm sure you've all heard of the Palm Pre, the supposedly sensational touchscreen device running the new webOS by Palm coming exclusively on Sprint. But let's recall for a minute Palm's past. The Palm Centro was Palm's answer to the Blackberry Pearl, and was marketed as such, the consumer-oriented device of Palm. It may be a little out of date, but compared to the Moto Q9c and Blackberry Pearl (two popular USCC smartphones also consumer oriented) it has similar functionality. Engadget is reporting today that Palm will no longer be making any more handsets with Palm OS...."other than the Centro making its way to other carriers..." Since U.S. Cellular is a very consumer oriented cell phone company and Verizon, Sprint, and ATT all already h...

EVDO in eastern Nebraksa?

Ok.....
can anyone sift through the bs and give a confirmed date on when EVDO will be here in Omaha NE?

As a former employee when I go up to ask anyone this question at the store all they say is..."don't worry it'll be here by the end of the year at latest".
Yeah I remember saying that to customers 3 years ago when EVDO was first being talked about at USCC.
My contract is up at the end of the year and if they don't have EVDO then I'm going to ATT or Verizon.

Please can anyone give me a non-bs answer.

Most Influential Phones Ever On USCC

Well, I started a thread in the general forum about the most influential phones of the decade and its growing in popularity. So I decided to do one for US Cellular, not only for the last decade but for the expanse of their existence. I am really interested to see what answers I get here as USCC has been around for a really long time and I am curious as to the past trends of the company and company's customers (as well as current). So, since I have a limited knowledge of the company's past, here is my short list of phones I thought were influential to the company and the company's customers. Hopefully you can add to it... and thanks for all answers!!!

Motorola RAZR V3m (really popular phone on our carrier)

Blackberry 8830 (was the sta...

$630 mistake on part of the company!!!

Well, I'm not in a very good mood right now. I had a half day of school and when I returned home my grandfather called me very upset, telling me that US Cellular has made some type of mistake and has charged us 630 dollars extra on my phone for easyedge usage. He went down to a local store and spoke with a family friend, the store manager who knew something was wrong. The customer service department apparently would not allow her to help resolve the issue very long and my grandfather had to speak. He spoke with a woman, deep within the endless chain of departments, who seemed to be very blunt and rude to him. She suggested that the extra bill was my fault that I had used it on my KRZR. Considering that I had only had my KRZR for a few days ...

30 day trial is ****ed up!

Ok so as a teenager, I never have a clue what I really want. I got the Blackberry Curve and then switched, within the period, to a Motorola Q9c. Well Windows Mobile bites!!! I wanted a Blackberry again and was making my decisions when lo and behold I found out that the 30 day trial period is only a one time courtesy. After buying a laptop, I have no money. I can't dish out 500 dollars for a retail price Blackberry and I can't dish out 250 dollars for a refurb either. So I guess I'm royally screwed with that Q engraved into my palm for 1 and 1/2 years. This sucks bad. Any suggestions? Any comfort... after all, it would be nice if this horrible phone could surprise me with something great. Plz help. 😢

LG UX830 question

I should probably know this question but I don't so amuse me:

What does Data Dormant mean?

I recently got this phone and noticed that sometimes the data active arrows are going when I am not even on easy edge.

Can anyone explain this?

Am I getting scammed by USCC?

Received a text msg that I had been signed up for 2 "free" weeks of city and state location services.
Now are they going to start billing me after the two weeks which I did not request unless I specifically cancel and how do I do so.
I hate these offers where you have to opt out to avoid getting slammed with unordered charges.

Compliant & A Complaint

I purchased a BB Curve about 6 months ago after having it a month and half it was dropping calls, losing signal, disconnecting from the bis server and about ever other incoming call was going straight to vm. So I took it to the repair rep at the corporate store and she checked it out and reproduced the problems that I was having with it. She contacted the datatek team and was told to have me wipe and reload the phone and if this did not solve the problem I would need to contact datatek directly for replacement. So I did as instructed and tried it for a week and still no improvement. I contacted the datatek team and was told that they would swap out the phone. They said they would overnight a replacement with a prepaid label to send back the ...

Lets Recap how this went for US Cellular

Also found this from howardforums:

Mythos is another pathetic attempt on part of USCC organizational development to indoctrinate and brainwash its employees. It's so sad, most of these fools eat it right up too.

Things we learned from mythos training:

-Customers are worried more about human coverage than voice and data coverage (yes, seriously)

-We are better than all the other carriers (yes, seriously)

-Customers want a "deeper relationship with their carrier but are afraid to deepen the relationship" (yes, seriously)

-We should believe- not necessarily provide, but believe and have hope for (I don't remember) (yes, seriously)

-We were given a series of ten affirmations (there were ten commandments, right?) of which eac...

What do you think of the wine?

I don't know my self. The dedicated keys just below the screen are different and the large buttons are great for the old folks, but I don't know if they will go for the high price.

HTC Touch vs BB Curve

SO after recently carrying the Curve for a few months I definitely prefer WIndows Mobile.

My Touch is much better for me...now I agree RIM makes a quality product but for what I need in a phone BB fell a bit short.

1. Phone calls- the comparison is pretty close hear with BB probably coming out a little ahead. Louder earpiece on BB wins it.

2. Camera- BB wins hands down...the flash is really what seperates these two 2.0 mp cameras. WIth the Touch if you dont have good lighting the pics just dont come out...

3. Texting...This is where the Touch starts to take over... the both have some version of threaded texting, however I love how there is no character limit on the Touch, it just lets you keep typing and it will just send it ou...
