LG Voyager VX-10000

Forgive me if my questions are basic, I have tried to read up on the Voyager online but some of the posts here have confused me a bit.

This phone will be for work and personal use. My current phone is a Treo that syncs with exchange. I do not care about office docs or anything but I need to be able to use the internet, the real internet through a browser not the Verizon Internet, and I need to be able to keep track of appointments and contacts. I do not care about exchange sync but I do need to have a calendar.

Also, as I posted in another post, I need to access my email via IMAP on the exchange server. I hate my Treo and it is not working anyway. Is this the phone for me (hope so) or do I need to look at a blackberry?

I am not a Voyager owner (yet). I am the IT Director for a small company and also manage the cell phones. We currently have 5 Treos syncing with our mail server. I have not been all that happy with my Treo and recently, it quit working entirely. I have had it for close to 20 months and probably am going to have to get a new phone. I have been looking at the Voyager.

I figure that the Voyager, not having a Windows Mobile OS (thank god) will not sync with Exchange. However, I do need to get my email. My mail server has a self signed certificate and I would need to install this on the Voyager.

Finally, to my question: Can I install a self-signed certificate on the Voyager to get my email via IMAP?

I just bought a Voyager and LOVE it!!

However, when I plug my headphones into the headset output I only get the right channel. Can someone tell me if they're having the same issue?

I bought this phone as a replacement for my i-pod. I have a 200 dollar set of Bose headphones that, if I cannot use with this phone, will make keeping it a real deal-breaker. Help?

All of the sudden tonight my inbox is receiving emails from my msn.com. I have not done anything to initiate this activity. I live in Bergen County, NJ. Moreso, this has occurred after the phone stop receiving email alerts (mobile email) over one months ago. Any ideas what is going on? Am I being charged with out-of-network messages?

Is there a way to use google maps on the voyager. Whenever I go to maps.google.com it never loads the map.

MUSIC SKIPPING !! ☹️

So I discovered (eventually) that if the right ear on the bluetooth stereo headset is covered (by a jacket as in the cold weather) and you are listening to music on this phone, THE MUSIC WILL SKIP!!!.

At first, I thought it was the cold air hitting it, but I discovered that if your phone is on your hip, and you put a jacket or hoodie between it, your music will skip.

The solution? Put the phone within 1 foot of your bluetooth headset (when skiing/snowboarding/walking in cold weather). For some reason, it skips when the headset is covered though it works up to 30 feet if nothing is covering your right side of your stereo headset.

There seems to be slight bug in the Location Manager app. If I set the permission to "Allow" and then set the times from 12:00am to 12:00pm, with all the days set, then when I use VZNavigator it will come back with an error that I did not allow the service permission to find me. If, however, I set the times from 12:15am to 11:45pm, then it seems to work fine.

This won't be an issue until that night I need to locate someplace at 12 midnight and can't do it.

Anyone else run into anything like this?

Most of my other phones let me view all my pics as a slide show full screen. As of yet, I have not figured out how to do this on the voyager. Is it even possible under software verison 5?

just wanted to tell everyone i purchased the motorola dc800 stereo bluetooth receiver and the thing is awesome, it works well over 30 feet the phone acts as a remote for my entire home theater system now it even streams music from my computer wirelessly and it even has an output so i can wirelessly stream any audio input source(xbox, cablebox, cd, etc.) back to my bluetooth headphones. yes i push technology harder then anyone else.

I bought the voyager and used it for about 3 weeks. The touch screen was not working well. I would hit it multiple times and nothing would happen. It was very difficult to scroll through the contacts. You had to scroll your fingers "up" in order to look through the contacts. You have to constantly open the phone for many features such as voicemail or speaker phone. The email program was terrible. Really slow. And internet surfing was very slow. Sound quality was poor too.

This is a great phone to text, thats it!

I love the Pearl, the technology is so far advanced from Voyager, they are not even close. If having your contacts and emails easily accessible to you is important, do not buy the voyager, stic...

phonescoop reports that this phone does not have predictive text... is that because u have to use a keyboard all the time??

I can only seem to fast forward videos I have uploaded to the Voyager a few seconds at a time using the arrow keys (even when I hold it down). So, if you watch the first half hour of a movie and then want to go back and watch the rest later, there is no way to get back to where you were other than going seconds at a time. Does anyone have a fix for this problem?

I can bring up you tube but have not been able to view any videos. I tried putting things into search but not bringing up anything.Tried playing vids from front page but nothing, can anyone help as I am probably doing something wrong. when i take a picture...i click save and if I don't hold my phone completely still it makes the picture really blurry...does anyone else have this problem? it pisses me off! 😳

Do any of the Env accessories fit the Voyager. I know that the battery won't, but how about the charger? If the Voyager isn't compatible with Env accessories, is it compatible with any other LG Phone accessories?
