LG Voyager VX-10000

I am interested in getting a new Voyager from Verizon wireless. I was excited to see it supports up to an 8 GB memory card because I wanted to be able to watch movies on it while I am traveling. Most of my movies are around 700 MB. Then today after talking to a LG rep he said that the Voyager DOES NOT play .avi or .mpeg files which is what all my movie files are.

My question is is there a fix, a patch, a hack or software you can get that allows the Voyager to play these video file types?

Ok, I'm having problems. I followed the directions from below, no problem. I don't know which file to to convert. When you open a DVD, it has like 8-9 files. I don't know how to get it over to my phone. I dragged it over to my phone, but I when I go to play it, I can't find it. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?


I personally use Magic Video Converter, but others have used SUPER, amongst other programs, with these settings:

For Magic Video Converter:

1) On the toolbar across the top, select "To MP4".
2) You will see a button called, "Edit Profile", click on the down arrow and select "Add".
3) Under the "General" Tab, select "Mobile Movie" as your type.
4) Now go into your "Video" Tab.
5) Under bitrate, select "Specify Setti...

I had the silicone case with the EnV and didn't have problem with echo, but with Voyager it is bad. Just got the snap on body glove and no echo. It looks great and feels good, will not slip out my hands,has a good grip. Try it you'll like it with no echo.

I have had the Voyager since it first came out and really like it. But I would like to be able to access e-mail on the go. Which would be better--biting the bullet and signing up for the monthly V-Cast (my work e-mail is web-based, so I can access it with the Voyager) or adding a Pearl w/ the $29.95 plan?
This probably sounds like a no-brainer, but I value your opinions (Phonescoop over the years has been my best source of info. on phones!).

I was wondering. I the fire graphic that is shown on the picture of the Voyager actually installed on the Voyager?

I have no problem getting mp3s onto my phone, nor hacking the ez tip calc for pong, whatevers that worth..but I can't seem to figure out how to acquire ringtones for free. I figured maybe it had something to do with editing mp3 files, but I can't figure out what to do with them afterwards. I would really appreciate some help as to attaining ringtones for free.

After I've transfered the video file (mpeg4) onto my removable disk, how to i access the movie on my phone. anyone know?? thanks! 😉

I have a question about the call log: my Voyager doesn't list all the calls made/missed/received, but only the most recent.

For example, if I call my friend, hang up, and call back, it only lists that last call, and not the one before it. But if I call my friend, she calls me, and then I call her again, it lists all three.

Is there any way to fix/switch this, or is this just happening on my phone? It's really annoying and driving me crazy!

With Verizon opening its network to 3rd party developers, will there Android OS work on the Voyager? And When will Verizon open there phone software??

Is thier a way i can get the album art for the mp3 i transfer from my pc. I have them on my pc but they don't seemto transfer over. Or do u only get the album covers from music downloaded from VZ?

Neither LG customer support nor verizon tech support knows the answers:
What do I get out of upgrading from v3 to v5? If anything I've heard a lot of people's phones crap out on them once they get v5, and they can no longer txt themselves ringtones from either a website or an email account.

My other concern is the internet. Verizon tech support said there are improvements..but what are those improvements? Specificly I'm looking to be able to play mpeg movies so I can watch pr0n at work or youtube. That's another thing..youtube videos would not work for me.
Any help would be appreciated but don't tell me to call vzw back or lg I have done both.

Does anyone else have problems with music sounding a bit echoie or hollow using a stereo bluetooth device? I'm using a Jabra BT320s. It might be my bluetooth device, but I don't really want to go out a buy a new device to find out.

Well I really, really love the looks and feel of the Voyager but am on the fence. Heres why and maybe some of you can give me your feedback.

I have been using my VX8300 since the day it came out (first one here in the city with it) and have not had one bit of trouble with it. My girlfriend and daughters own the VX9900 and love them. Also with out a bit of trouble.

I find myself doing a lot more texting and really want a phone with the QWERTY keyboard. So right now that leaves me with the XV10000 or the VX9900 or wait for the new SCH-U940.

My concern is reliability, wear and tear. My 8300 is a tank as well as the Env's. For those of you that have had the Voyager for a little while what do you think of the overall "build" of the ph...

i exchanged my voyager for a new one last week.
do i need the software upgrade or do the new ones have it installed?

i was just wondering if anyone used the voyager witht the motorola dc800 stereo bluetooth receiver.(for the mp3's to come out my stupid large home theater system wirelessly) the reciever says it just has to be a2dp compatable which the voyager is. i bought this a year ago and tried it with the 9900 which is a2dp compatable too, and it didnt work, it just the phone off everytime,, anyone at all try this,, i think probably not because nobody pushes technology like i do but i thought id ask before dropping the 100plus bucks on it

i bought the mobile tv service so i could watch football on the go, thing is they dont even broadcast these games were talking about huge nfc/afc playoff games and they got repeats of bones on are u kidding me i wonder if these retarts will even have the superbowl
