Samsung SCH-A610

I just bought this phone a few days ago and can't figure out how to make it alert me when I miss a call. Someone please tell me there's a way. Every other phone I've owned would beep every couple of minutes if I missed a call until I acknowledged. I thought they all did that. So far, the only way I can see to tell if a call was missed is to go through the menus and check manually. I work strictly on call and this is my only phone. I hate the idea of having to check the freakin' thing every time I get out of the shower, as opposed to it beeping to let me know. Is there a way???

what type of format do i need to play ring tones on my phone. I send mid files, but when they come to the phone, the phone says it's a unsuported format.

I'm sending 20 sec midi files in 65kb format.

anyone know what format I need.

that this is the best phone Verizon has to offer. The new LG 7000 is dissapointing, the a670 makes the pics look white, and only god knows when the V710 is coming out. This phone has the best screen that i've seen for vzw, the best battery life, and the best camera. Even though it has no video camera, it doesnt bother me for the fact that i have one anywayz.

Do you know what format the mp3 file has to be transfered into so I can email the file so I can save it and use it for a ringtone.

So far when I send mid files to my phone, it says unsupported format and won't play the ring tone.

I'm using song.mid, and the format is like 65K and 20 clips. They are saved as MP3, and then I rename it .mid.

It took me quite some time and calling to verizon to get this figured out, I figured I could save some people in my shoes some trouble by showing them how to transfer images and audio files to your phone from your computer.

Each time you send files to your computer its $.25 unless you have a plan with verizon. The lady from verizon on the phone said that each time you "send" its $.25, so put as many files as you can in there to save on sends. If you send 5 files at once its still just $.25.

Just wondering if anyone has figured out how to email ring tones to the A610 and then be able to save them as a ring tone to the phone. I have been able to email some ring tones and even get them to play on the phone while viewing the message but have not figured out hot to save them. ANYONE Please help!!! If this is not possible I would like to know that too so I can stop wasting my time.

I was looking into getting the Samsung SCH-a610 for verizon. Does it have the abitlity to take pictures and use them as caller id pictures. EX- say John called could I have taken a picture of John before and see his face on the screen when he calls. This model also only has the one main screen.. are there any other phone supported by verizon that have another small LCD on the outside that could do the same caller id picture funcion. I hope since i am new i haven't offended anyone or broken any rules (like posting in the wrong forum).. so please don't flame me if i have.

How many chords is this phone...as in ringtone quality?..i've heard 15 but im not sure

what is the difference between the two, if any?

I've been contemplating getting the 610 but the outdated BREW has got me thinking...

If not these two, what phone would you recommend getting?

Is it possible to send midi files via email into the phone? Is there a certain method of putting custom midi files into the phone?

Is there a way to get free ringtones on the 610 (like you can do with the LG 6000)???

can anyone compare the photo quality between this phone and the lg 6000? in particular when emailing? i have a friend with the lg and when he emailed me a pic it was horrible quality!!

I've been reading many of the threads in this forum, and I'm suprised to see that nobody else has commented on this proprietary BS.

Granted that I'm still new to the cell phone world (this is my second phone 610A), I'm am still in shock that in order to get your pictures off of the phone, you have to pay, to get new tones, you have to pay, whether wifi or get it now, games you have to pay, everything you pay, in addition to your phone service and the cost of the phone.

Thats like buying a computer, and in order to put anything onto it, you have to go through the OEM, to copy anything off, you have to pay, to put your own work on you have to pay..

Further research into this, this lockdown service method is only predominant in the U...

I purchased my a610 this past Saturday...having a couple problems

-When i recieve txt messages with the folder closed, i open it and it just freezes up for a couple seconds and doesn't notify me right away that i have a txt...anyone else having this problem

-When sending txts, it doesn't let me know if it was delivered...with the Delivery Ack. ON...

-My pictures won't upload to my account a vzwpix.com...i send it to the online album but it says the message is not delieverd

These people have got to be on crack? What takes them so long to release a ****ing phone? Sprint's already getting the Audiovox 9900 any day now and we dont even have the A610!!! A phone that was approved by the FCC a year ago!!!! A whole ****ing year!!!

MY FRIEND AT THE VERIZON STORE JUST CALLED ME AND HE SAID THERES A RECALL ON THE PHONE AND FOR ME TO BRING IT BACK............WOW.

I was wondering if it was possible to recieve a tone in the form of a pix msg and then save it to your phone so taht u can use it as a ringtone later on

1. When I press the voice recognition shortcut (*), the voice is really low i can barely hear it. Anyway to increase the volume?The ringer volume and everything else is ok.

2. When the phone is flipped open and nothing is touched for a minute and 15 seconds, the screen goes blank. Power save mode is off.
