Samsung SCH-A610

If your not sure if yours is tri-mode.then odds are yours is all Digital. Also No A610 had any games on it. VERIZON takes them all out so you have to pay for them.

Yes this phone A610 was trimode and the first batch like istated over 1 month ago was TRIMODE. I HAVE 1!!!! And i stated this over one month ago. please check older threads!!

when this phone first came out wasn't it tri mode? now i notice it's all digital. does anyone know if you can still get it with analog also? thanks

I'm upgrading from my three year old Nokia in three weeks and I am sooo excited! However, I'm a bit confused.

I really like both these phones. The VX6000 has the nice external display, but my phone now doesn't really have one and I'm ok without it. I don't like the camera on the VX. It's pretty poor. The camera on A610 is nice.

My question is regarding the Get it Now and the polyphonic ringtones....I heard that the VX6000 can play 40 chords at once while this is only 16 or 14 chords. Do they play the same ringtones? I'm really confused on these phones.

Which would you recommend and why? I wear a blazer every day, so size is not a matter as I've got huge pockets lining my jacket.

Is the Verizon GETFLIX option availible on the A610? I currently monitor my pets via webcam on my LG V6000 and am thinking of getting the A610 and would need this feature.

The Vzw Store I went to to check only had dummy A610's on display.

Has anybody noticed that the SCH-A610 has a speakerphone that is used for multimedia messaging? Try the following sequence (don't worry, it's free): Click Menu -> Messages -> Send New Msg -> Pix Msg -> scroll down to the Sound field (no need to fill out the other fields) -> click Option -> Record New -> now speak for up to 30 seconds into the phone -> click Done -> Next -> Preview. This sounds very speakerphone-like to me, except that I can't get it to work for a phone call. Am I missing something?

Do you guys think that Samsung's PCLINK software (used for syncing via a USB cable) could be downloaded from another carrier, other than Verizon, and used with the SCH-A610? For example, an Israeli carrier offers the software for free download from their Web site for a very similar model - see: http://www.pelephone.co.il/itemDetails.asp?pg id=1053&catID=164&tmpltId=27&fId=128 but I don't have a USB cable to test this, nor do I know whether it will work.

The usb for the A610 is already out but you cant download the pics.

Im thinking of getting a Motorola V60s with speakerphone. The dont charge you 4.99 a month for speakerphone. LOLOL

when i recieve text somtimes the persons name shows up and somtimes it dosnt. does any1 know how to make it so that the name always shows up

Mine is also TRIMODE, only the very earlly A610 for verizon are TRIMODE. I was very lucky i got mine earlly from a friend.

Also You can get a USB wire to download pics to the computer on EBAY they are allover for $20

I am having problems with my a610 now! every once in a while my screen just goes blank for a long period of time. I try taking the battery out and starting the phone back up but it still stays the same! Does anybody know the cause of this and is anybody else experiencing the same problem? a friend of mine suggested that the phone was new and the software was outdated? well hollar bak!

Does AIM and MSN work on this phone? I know it works on LG VX6000 (BREW 2.0) but I heard that this phone is BREW 1.1, which if the case AIM feature is not available. Can any of you who has this phone confirm this?

Wow i always thought you could Connect like a USB wire like a NORMAL digital camera directlly to your computer to download the pictures, so you dont have to pay for picture messaging. I WAS WRONG.

THERE IS NO WAY TO DO THAT AT ALL. What the hell is th point of a camera phone then. I am selling my phone TODAY on online. I am extremlly disapointed. 4.99 for 80pics? Ive taken an average of 20 a day since i got it. LOL on that pace ill be over my limit in 4 days.

What a Ripoff!!!

Not sure where to look for this, but I am looking for a headset that will have the One-touch call answer/end and voice-activated dialing button. I purchased the one from samsung and it works great, but I am not happy with the comfort so I am looking for an over the ear boom that will still give me the "magic" button. Has anyone found anything?

Ok here it is i have had vx6000, audiovox8900, the samsung A610 is the BEST HANDS DOWN.

Pros: EXCELLENT BUILD
4 hour talk time!!
Camera is the best from ANY PHONE OUT RIGHT NOW
65k screen BLOWS away the vx6000 262k screen
Signal is excellent.
Ringers are LOUD!!!
EAR PEICE LOUD


Cons: Only one CON its Bigger than the others, but what do you expect the standard battery is a EXTENDED battery for any other phone.

When I attach a picture to a contact sometimes the picture is unrecognizable when calls come in? Not always though. Any ideas?

I would say this is the best phone that Verizon has came out with yet (as far as camera phones). You can do almost anything with this camera. It's rotating base and flash are a plus! I took a picture in the complete dark and could make out everything. 🙂 It has a very impressive battery life. I talked on mine for about two hours today and took about 10 pictures and it didn't even use a bar (it was off the charger for 12.5 hours total). I hope they keep up the wonderful work...If you have any questions about the phone, please post them--I will do my best to answer them! 😁
