Audiovox CDM-9900
News from Audiovox...
they had any updates on the CDM9900.
This is what they said:
"The CDM9900 is still in the approval process and we are waiting for Verizon to approve the phone. If the phone is going to be approved it will be by the end of August. You can check back with us in about two weeks to see if we got the approval."
So if I don't hear anything, I'll contact them
the first part of September to see if it
passed the approval.
v710
Please do not choose Audiosux
Got the V710, but WANT the CDM9900
The only good thing about it is the reception and voice quality.
To keep a long story short, I'd rather have the CDM9900 come
out than this crap.

9900 vs. 710
I came across this forum just a couple weeks ago and have been watching this thread with much interest. I am a new Verizon user (3 mos.) after being with AT&T wireless for 7 years. I currently have an 8900, but am planning on giving it to my wife and therefore will need a new phone.
I was searching for info on the up and coming phones when I found this thread, and then from within this thread I found info on several phones. One of my biggest restrictions is that I require an Analog compatible phone due to my location (on an Island).
Since the 710 is expected any day now, I was curious what the proβs, conβs and opinions are of the Moto710 vs. the 8900β¦ Any and all input would be much appreciated.
If I posted t...

9900 not cancelled?
I'm so......freakin......pissed!
I've been following this audiovox since its first release. I've been waiting so long, and it didn't come out! I seriously waited so long, that I lost interest in it now. F*** you audiovox! Since my contract with tmobile (t stands for trash) expires on the first of august...im now either thinking about the samsung a670 or motorola v710 if it comes out before then. If the v710 is a brick and if the camera and speaker are poor, ill go with the samsung. I would easily get the samsung, but I love speaker on a phone, and thats whats the turn off with this samsung.
My Fate: Getting Screwed Over!
Release date anyone?
Let's look at the LG-7000 as a option to the CDM-9900?
Conflicting Information
On the other hand you have forum members who claim to know that is has been scrapped by Verizon. But, without exception, they fail to provide any credible source, press release, or document to verify their information. And good old Verizon won't say one way or the other. If they have decided not to carry the 9900, why wouldn't they announce this officially? I guess we can keep the 9900 in the back of our minds until we receive official word one way or the other.
E-Mail Response From Audiovox
Customer (Mike H.) - 07/07/2004 03:15 PM
I wrote you last week, but I never received a response. I will try this again. Can you please advise me on the status of the Audiovox CDM 9900 cell phone? The word on the street from multiple sources is that Verizon Wireless has decided not to carry this handset. Is that true or is a launch through Verizon still expected? I need to make a decision on the purchase of a new handset and your response will determine whether I act now or...

AUDIOVOX 9900 IS SCRAPPED!!
Audiovox completely messed up their reputation with the 8000 series which was made by Cruitel and probably would still be in the business of making cell phones if they would've simply let Toshiba make all the Audiovox models. The Audiovox 8600 and 8900 were pulled from the shelves about 4 times because of problems. Basically the 8000 series lost money while the 9000 series made money yet ...
