LG enV VX-9900

I just got the enV yesterday, and I love it! Only problem is that when I log on mobile IM (AIM) no one in my buddy list appears online. I've checked on AIm on my computer and I know they are online, but they don't show up on my phone.

I've had a Verizon technician look at it and he said he doesn't know what it is.

Does anyone know what's wrong?

I'm not very tech savy so forgive me if this is a stupid issue. I got my enV a couple weeks ago, love it. My iPod got stolen from my car recently, and I figure why spend 300+ when I can get the microSD for much cheaper. I tried loading some files onto the SD and then onto my phone, and it only seems to work with MPEG audio files, and doesn't work with AAC audio files (most of my music). Do I have to convert every file to MPEG? What is the easiest way to solve this problem? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

On past phones, I have been able to go through the phone or call settings and block numbers from calling me. Can I do that with the enV?

I want to get this phone. I'm surprised I still want it considering it's been out for a while. My question is this; I've heard that the front display is VERY small. Too small to navigate the menu without aggravation, not sure what they mean by this. Anybody have issues with the size of the front display screen? 😕

I'm new to the cell phone tech game so please, someone tell me how to go about updating the firmware. Thanks

I just got my EnV on Thursday and was waiting to hear the dual stereo speakers that everyone including phonescoop said were so "loud".

Well that's not the case at all, the phone has ok sound to me with those speakers. However, even with the phone sitting right next to me in the car , I can't have the radio on because I won't hear the phone ring. I have adjusted and made sure the master volume is set to High.

I have tried the ringtones the phone came with and ones that I downloaded from Verizon and they all sound the same volume if not softer.

Does anyone else have this problem??? I love this phone so far, but feel the chocolate, and even the stupid razr are louder than this phone.

I have the silver enV where the orange button says "Email." I know that on the Orange enV, this button says "enV" and is customizable. But I've heard that the firmware versions on the silver and orange are exactly the same.

So how exactly is the "enV" button programmed if it's not in the firmware, and how can we do this on the silver enV?

I downloaded some ringtones from www.ddnmobile.com and they were in my phone when I saved them. I put my phone on the charger, woke up in the morning and they dont show up anywhere in the phone, so I went to the site, downloaded the same ringer, tried to save it and it says that file already exists.....Anyone know what I can do?

I've had my enV since the day it came out. I'm use to it & kinda afraid to upgrade it, do I really need to?

Does anyone know if lG has plans to do an updated version of the 9900 ? - I currently have the 9900 and love it, but was wondering if verizon will get an updated version at any point, perhaps more features and/or smaller in size, etc...

I upgraded to ver2 firmware mostly for the ability to be able to send 2MP camera pics. This seemed to work at first, but the last few times that i tried it, i got the 'file exceeds limit size'

anyone else have this problem. is it possible that they upgradeed the threshold so that SOME 2 MP pics go through and some dont?? (because the file sizes maybe sitting close to the threshold - every file is a different amount of memory)

I had a question about Mobile E-mail (the $5 application) on the enV.
Normally, when you type something such as a txt and finish a sentence, I type a period, two spaces, and then press the "shift" button which will then give me the "Abc" icon, causing only the next letter ONLY to be capitalized (the rest lowercase).

However, on Mobile Web, when I press shift, it goes to "ABC" (caps lock) and then when I press it a second time, then it turns to the "Abc" where only the next letter/first letter will be capitalized.

Also, if I press the symbol key twice, it will go to the "Abc" (next letter/first letter only caps). Is there a setting or is this actually a bug with Mobile E-mail?

Hi everyone,
I was wondering how much time on average your battery lasts for your enVs. I have the standard battery and got the phone about a week and a half ago. My battery lasts only about a day before I need to charge it. I know that bluetooth will take more power, but I NEVER get anywhere near the 450 minutes projected talk time for the phone. I'm just comparing this to my old VX8000 which could last about 2 - 3 days with the same usage. I do use bluetooth on my enV. Will that heavily drain the battery? Or is there a possible defect with my battery?

I know there are 2 different Themes you can do for the enV but I was just wondering if there's any way at all to make the reception bar, battery indicator, etc any color you might want, If it's not possible, then it's ok just wondering. THanks.

Having problems charging battery. It will charge then read charge complete. I will still have a low battery (one bar). It is a brand new battery. Brand new charger.

Hi everyone,
I originally had version 1 on my new enV phone, which I remember being able to look at the current System ID and Channel that I was connected to. I remember there was a menu in I think "System" or "Call Settings" or something.

However, now after upgrading the version 2 software, I can no longer find it. I'm traveling out of the home area (still on VZW), but was just curious to see that info, but it seems to have been removed with the new software.

Is there anyway to view this info?

I am just curious if anyone has gotten any of the newer versions of BitPim to work with the new enV software yet. I know when the update first came out it made the phone incompatible with BitPim and I really want to be able to use BitPim, so I've been waiting to get the upgrade so far. I think BitPim 1.0.0 came out after the enV update... any luck with that? Thanks! =)

Just got the EnV and it's so far a nice
phone. Unfortunately I can't get on AOL
for the email - it keeps timing out. I can
get into MSN/Hotmail - but can't get to
the sign in screen for AOL.

This is a biggie with the husband (this is
his phone) and he's not a happy camper.

Anybody got any ideas?

I was wondering, why does DUN disconnect me after 2 minutes and 30 seconds of use?

It allows me to connect to the 1x network (never lets me connect to the 3g network though).

But I simply want to use that network connection that allows me to connect to the internet by using my minutes. I don't care if it's low speed; just as long as I can connect and stay connected.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong (or could you provide a link to where I can find out more about it)?
