Unlimited Voice plus EVDO Aircard for 149.99/month!?!?!?!?

By Kelly Hill
Story posted: February 26, 2007 - 2:01 pm EDT

Sprint Nextel Corp. has thrown down a gauntlet in the form of two new unlimited voice and data plans offered in the San Francisco market, home of a high-tech populace.

Sprint Nextel’s two Unlimited Access Pack plans include a $120-per-month plan that includes unlimited voice calling, messaging and mobile Web access, and a $150-per-month plan that bundles all of those options plus unlimited Internet access for a personal computer.

Current Analysis analyst William Ho said in a research note that the trial plans “have the effect of a gren...

BOOO THE COVERAGE MAP

So I activated the PX-500 card for a customer today, and I pulled her zipcode up on the website, it was DARK GREEN which meant best service. She gets home and calls me saying it has no service. So I go BACK to the coverage map to double check, I still got the dark green for best service. Now I then went and clicked ZOOM. Funny how when you zoom in 2 times it changes to "service for this area is not available" Kind of ticked me off, I would not have activated her card if I knew that! Zoomed out it looks the same as the best service color, but zoomed in it has dashes in it which signify no signal. Thought I would let you all know, zoom in to make sure your customer has service in their area.

WiMAX.....huh...what's the big deal

So what's the big deal with WiMAX, its been deployed the last couple of years already in a couple cities in florida....Cingular just offloaded a bunch of its spectrum for 300 million to Clearwire b/c they don't need it.

When AT&T/cingular launches their HSPA+ which will provide 28Mbps downloads and 11Mbps uploads not only will you have data access at those rates but you will prob have your T.V. provided wirelessly....you will be able to stream HD channels with the kind of bandwidth at&t will provide......so again, what's the deal with WiMAX?

Ok I finally saw a funny commercial from sprint. It was so damn funny. It was the Jimmie Johnson one. The magic one wasn't that bad either.

pwned...

The slang term 'pwn' (see pronunciation note below), used primarily in the Internet gaming culture, means to soundly defeat an opponent. It is sometimes used for taunting of an in-game enemy, and rubbing in victories. The etymology of the term 'pwn' is believed to be rooted in a typographical error arising from the proximity of the 'p' key to the 'o' key on a standard English keyboard

So being a long time customer..............

counts for nothing with sprint? I've been a customer ever since inception here in Chicago, started off with a indirect dealer plan:$10 for 250 mins, 500 N&W and later moved up to a regular plan after the company I worked for went out of business. I recently broke my phone and I had insurance on the handset. I took it to a Sprint store and was told it can be fixed at another dealer location. I got there and was told that my phone couldn't be fixed and I was offered either a Samsung M500 or the A640. I opted for the A640 because I use Vision and have a grandfathered plan with unlimited text messaging so I didn't want to have to upgrade to power vision.

The A640 didn't live up to my expectations and I went back to the store to get the M500 ...

Text Messaging

I currently have the A 900 and love it. The only thing I don't like is the fact that it doesn't add words to the dictionary. Is this still a factor with the 610 or have the added this feature? I am considering purchasing this phone as a replacement and this would help with my decision.

another question for sprint people

They have updated their coverage map. It used to show you their native coverage now it does not. It shows allot of what used to be roaming coverage now as the sprint nationwide network. What is going on. Is their something in the works.

Question for some sprint people.

Ever since I get an EVDO signal in my area I have been having trouble logging on to vision and the speeds are around 1x speeds (anywere from 110kbps to 170). Do they do this on purpose as far as speeds go when they first activate it in the area. And is there a known sign on issue?
