It's as if they are all sworn to secrecy about each phone they come out with. (It seems like this would hurt their business especially when someone is looking to start a contract) Anyways, are there any phones that have been speculated/expected/confirmed for Q1 of this year. My contract expires within a month and i don't know if i can bring myself to get a V9M. I like it but I don't really care for the color or wideness of the phone. Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks.

dear alltel, I just saw one of your commercials involving a sports star sitting at a meeting table with chad or who ever and the usual wirelss carriers...and he said that alltel dosnt resign a contract when they make changes, but the other carriers do...I just added unlimited family messaging to my at&t plan along with raising my minute plan and I didnt resign anything...so I think you need to spend less time bashing the competition and focus more on your crappy network...thanks

I have the old original unlimited Alltel plan I started about 10 years ago. It has since been discontinued. I pay $59.99 to call unlimited in my area code only- 417, which is where I make almost all my calls. An Alltel rep told me I would get better reception and the towers/ wavelenths would be used differently if I switched to the $39.99 National Freedom plan. Does anyone know if this is true or is this unlimited plan a bargain I should keep and be able to add internet and have it unlimited? I use aound 1000 minutes/month but would use much more if I added internet.

Alltel thinks it is being innovative but infact they are practicing stupidity. Recently a 16 year old girl bought an alltel prepaid phone at wal-mart. Then she talked her disabled mother ( who lives only on a small monthly disability check) into using her bank debit card to purchase $10 of airtime via the online system... Well appearantly Alltel prepaid has a function in the phone that allows the user to repeat the last transaction to easily repurchase airtime.... Well the 16 year old girl ran away with her boyfriend and they are repeating that last transaction at a rate of of once or twice everyday. The mothers bank account was over $300 ( with overdraft charges) overdrawn , and the really messed up part is that she can't freeze her account...

Please kids, there are grown adults coming here to look for extra information and have to sift through endless topics of Verizon is better because my uncle Jimmy has a cooler phone than my cousin Bobby who has Alltel. Or my phone company sucks because they don't help me with my broken phone even though they advised me on the insurance at the time of the sale. Or Alltel blows because they got rid of the original Sprint guy in their commercials. (Ok, that's a valid topic that needs to be discussed, but in a different mannor.)

The bottome line is that I don't go to every other phone...

I came to this forum as a 3rd party seeking info in an attempt to help out a friend. If you read the string you will see that it was infact a very bazaar and freakish incident that will probably never happen again. However you will also
see the very sad responses this string received. I was insulted, the victims were insulted, and I was told that things that did happen could not happen.
I was told that certain things couldn't be done until I had to give step by step instructions how to do it. Sadly, I didn't know how and had to learn how and then had to teach them how. Everything actually happened just as it was described in the string and you can see the results.

I just saw the announcement on the front page of phonescoop.com about Verizon winning a huge chunk of the 700 Mhz auction. I don't see anything, though, about whether Alltel got something. Does it not stand to reason that if Alltel, certainly not in control of its own destiny, could fold up like a cheap suitcase if they failed to win anything?

Sprint right now....is worth 17.67 billion dollars.

You do the math. People that say it's impossible blah blah need to wake up. I'm not saying it will happen, i'm not even saying it is likely to happen. But it is very very possible.

I work for Halliburton and was wondering if Alltel gives a discount on their rate. I have had alltel for 2 years now and I am thinking about a change. Was curious though about the possible discount for Halliburton. If so how do you go about getting it? Thanks and any info would be appreciated.

Any news on when alltel may be releaseing the Glimmer? My wife is looking to renew her contract and we are looking at a cpl new phones, they would be the glimmer / the Touch / and the Scoop. any input would be welcome. all i have seen of the glimmer is the postings here of the data sheet and the pic on alltels site of it..

I had a question for you people that work for Alltel. Every time I'm in the store the reps pimp the Samsung Hue as the greatest thing since sliced bread. Since I know better, and that it is just an average phone......

Why? Is there greater commission for that phone or something? I seriously overheard someone recommend the BB Pearl, then compare it to the Hue like it was equal.....

it's about time that alltel has had some good phone. the LG Scoop, and the Glimmer. (or whatever) it's really nice.
