I don't see the big deal

Ok so tmo and verizon have unlimited family plans for 199. VERY Tempting until i started thinking about it

I pay 109 for two lines, get m2m, get 20 friends that I can change everyday, free nights and weekends, and I picked to get 1000 text for free on each line because with twenty friends who needs there minutes to start at seven? on top of that we share 2000 minutes!

our bill looks like this:
all together this month we used exactly 430 anytime minutes, 1,100 night and weekends, and a total of 6,240 mbm minutes. We even disconnected our landline.

so when i think about it i'm saving myself 90 dollars.
on top of that with tmobile I had horrible signal. And verizon is still expensive for the same kind of reception atleast here in ...

Smart phones

Hey guys, I've always been a big user of smart phones, currently I'm using the bb 8830 world edition. (have used windows based before) What I want to know is if there is a way to make your browser so that it is recognized as a computer and not a "mobile" devise. To my knowledge the Iphone is the only one to do this. Is that because of the software? And is Alltel going to release a true multimedia smartphone? (i've played with the touch, not very good for those purposes, even the bb is better in the multi media category than that phone!)

LG Voyager

Hello all
It's time for my monthly new phone question. Is there any chance Alltel will get a phone like the LG Voyager? It appears to be the ideal phone as far as features and looks are concerned for me. Any info would be appreciated.

Smart Plans

I don't know if somebody has asked this recently, so any info would be appreciated. Is it possible to add on a line to the smart choice plans so you can have two smart phones on those plans without doing two seperate contracts?

Alltel Phones

Hey guys Iรƒยขรขโ€šยฌโ„ขve been a loyal Alltel customer for years. I live the service and the price we get things for but there is one thing we need help with... PHONES! I know we have reliable phones that work well and everything but it seems like in this latest technological boom in the cell phone industry we have been looked over. It would be nice to have some more qwerty phones without getting a smart plan or even some with touch screen capabilities. It would just be nice to get our own nice and cool state of the art phones instead getting the leftovers even though for right now we are just a regional carrier.
Just wanted to voice my opinion.

Pearl or 8830?

So, my plan is up and Im looking for a new phone. Im diggin both of these phones and am having a hard time deciding which to get. I dont care that the 8830 can work in other countries or that the Pearl has a camera. Im more about the phone and its OS and the email aspects of the phone. Price isnt a deciding factor either...just looking for an feedback from those that have used both? Thanks in advance! ๐Ÿ™‚

Any new smartphones coming from Alltel soon?

Hey everyone, I'm a total cell phone nerd and currently own the palm 755p. I have tried every single smartphone alltel offers, but I keep going back to the palm based phones because of the touchscreen and calender setup. And yes, since i'm under contract every phone I buy I pay full retail, I realize its alot of money but its still cheaper than buying heroin or something... I recently tried the HTC touch, and it sucks compared to the 6800, I mean, the touch really sucked. The touchscreen didnt work worth a darn, the keyboard was useless and it smelled like a cheeseburger. I like the size, look and operation of the blackberry, but didnt like the fact it didnt have a touchscreen and that the messaging wasnt threaded. My thumb actually got...

LG Scoop and AX 565

Now available. The AX 565 is a Fuziq clone. On another note, i am extremely pissed at alltel because it costs 600 FREAKING DOLLARS TO CANCEL MY CONTRACT! I'm switching to Verizon as soon as i can, they have better service and coverage.

XM Radio and Axcess TV

Has anyone tried either/both of these? They seem pretty pricey, and it doesn't seem like they'd work too well since alltel's data speed and web services aren't blazing fast? Are these worth the money?

The Contract Game

I read that you could buy your phone outright and get no commitment in Consumer Reports, the Jan or Dec issue. At least, that's what I read.

Further studies conducted by me calling customer support for each carrier gave me THIS information:

Sprint: will make you sign a two year commit if you bring in your own sprint phone. (Jerks.) So if you plan on signing up, at least get a free phone with your two year contract, then switch out the phone and sell it on ebay.

Alltel: will let you on a current price plan with no commitment. (This company has some things going well for them.)

T-Mobile: They will make you sign a one year agreement if you bring in your own phone. OR you can do "Flexpay", where you just pay the first month outright....

Boosting Wireless Reception

We have 3-4 bars in our attic but 1 or none downstairs with our Alltel phones. Alltel offers a booster for $300 but I am wondering if there is a cheaper way to do this. That is for a wireless booster that will boost the entire house.
Thanks in advance.
