Buying at Retail

I am thinking of buying this phone at retail. I would be eligible to do the annual upgrade at the end of this month since I will be a year into my two year contract. However, that requires another two year contract. I really don't want that.

If I do upgrade at Retail, are there other fees that Verizon will charge me?

Over Charging Battery

I know that I was told that the new Lithium Ion Batteries had no memory and had circuitry to prevent over-charging. I was told that you can't hurt the a fully charged battery by leaving it charging a few hours more. Is this true?

Phone Problems: Need Help Please

I just got my LG enV phone with Verizon Wireless not even a week ago. I don't have any complaints about it except it is making a humming noise when the QWERTY keyboard is exposed. Also, the QWERTY keyboard isn't lighting up when I open it.

Any ideas what I should do???

Question not related exclusively to the phone

I'm new to Verizon and I have the enV. I just got the base cheapo plan with 400 minutes and 200 text messages. However I was looking through the phone and that you are able to chat with AIM, yahoo and MSN.
I believe that I heard everytime you type a reply in a chat it's considered a text, and uses minutes. Is there any plan feature that I can add on that I can use this chat function, (and possibly check my internet mail) without seriously depleting my texts and minutes?

Attn: 9800 owners upgraded to 9900 - how's bluetooch performance?

Hi I'm thinking of upgrading to the 9900 from the 9800 also, but I'd like to know if the 9900 has the same "short-distance" limitation like the 9800 ? From what I understand the 9800's internal bluetooth antenna is short causing it to have poor bluetooth reception compared with other bluetooth phones. Is this the same for the 9900? Any ex-9800 bluetooth users using the same bluetooth headset on the 9900, your comment is greatly appreciate!

Choosing the right plan/options

I recently purchased a 9900 and had a question about data plans and options. If all I want to do is send/receive a few emails with gmail, and occasionally check out a website or two, do I need to purchase a data plan? It seems that a lot of you are doing this...I just want to make sure I dont get hit with a huge bill at the end of the month.

Also, whats up with VCast? Does this allow you to have unlimited web access (without using you voice minutes)?

Thanks all..

Finally got album art to show

Hey guys, after reading Ashaneen's posting about album art. I thought I would play around with WMP and see how it worked.

Well after 2 days of going through the 1200 songs in wmp. I got the album art to show on the front and inside of the player.

I was sorta pissed that they got rid of the equalizer on the 9800 but I see why now.

So here is what you do.

1. Put music in wmp library.
2. Then go through each one and right click the song and select find album info.
3. Then select the song title album and artist that goes with your song.
4. Add songs that you want on the sync list.
5. On the cell phone go to get it now
6. on the cell phone go to get music (not sure if its exactly that)
7. On the cell phone select sync, (oh for...

Front screen / Upgrade to VX-9900

Hi everyone, I was thinking about purchasing this phone, but after I saw it in the Verizon store, two things concern me:
First, the external screen does seem to be small. Does anyone who owns this phone find this to be a problem or annoying? (I currently have a VX8000, whose external screen is large compared to the enV).
Second, is it annoying that the phone needs to be opened to use the speaker phone feature?

Also, I know that this phone is an upgrade to the VX-9800. But since this is the VX-9900, what will be the phone that eventually replaces this one? Is there any data or information available yet on this?

Thank you for the help.

How do I set my mp3's as my ringtones on the enV-9900???

Can anyone help me out??? I synced (if that's even a word) several songs from my pc to my phone and am trying to set them as my ringtones, but can't. Why not? I've read that I could send myself a picture message and attach the song, but it won't let me do that either. I was able to attach a sound saved in sounds folder and send that. How do I send a song? How do I save a song to my sounds folder? Can I even do that? If not, can someone please guide me step by step on how I can do this? I'm not to savy on this stuff and don't know what everyone is talking about unless someone actually spells it out for me. I've read a lot of posts that say to SMS yourself, but I don't even know what that is. Please, someone help as this is my only ...

I know it's my 10 digit phone #, but @ ?????
also, I don't have an mp3 cutter. Could that be why I'm not receiving the emails? I'm emailing the entire mp3 file. the address I'm using is my phone #@@vzwpix.com Is that right? How do I get an mp3 cutter? Someone else posted on google, so does that mean that I search for one and download a free one? Some one please help me out!!

AM I THE ONLY ONE GETTING BAD enV PHONES???

I have to bring back, my 2nd ENV phone. If I text a message, the battery drops to 2 bars. The speaker phone seems to pick up every sound, and echoes, the bluetooth also. I tried to lower the volume, hoping this would help. I spent all night reading the reviews,of every phone on Verizon. Hoping to replace this phone, but every phone seems so dull. I am thinking of traveling to a farther Verizon store, so I don't get the same bad lot.I spent so much time setting up my contact list, and pictures. This just makes me so sad.

When taking video clips does the camera have a red light or flash?

With camcorders, when one is taping there is often an annoying red light indicating that the camcorder is taping. When I tape a speaker they find that annoying.

Does the enV have that? Or is it fairly 'stealth' when it takes video clips? 😁

In Comparison w/the SK3...

how good is the AOL Instant Messenger on this phone? i've had numerous phones like both the Sidekick and the enV and so far, the only one with incomparable AIM was the Sidekick. it's quick, you can see away messages, and its easy to use with little to no lag between messages. opinions are needed! thanks. also if there is anything else i should know coming from the T-Mobile SK3 to the enV please include that as well.

Adding songs to library

I just synced a whole bunch of songs to my 2GB internal card. Now, whenever I try to sync music with my pc, that "addings songs to library" window pops up, and takes like 10 minutes to run before letting me sync with my pc. Is this normal? Is there any way around this?
