Music at startup and shut down?

I just picked up this phone (and the free LG 3200) yesterday. I love the phone, but I hate the music it plays when you turn it on or off. On the LG, turning this off was an easy find, but on the Audiovox 9900 I can't find an option to turn it off. And so far I haven't found anything in the manual about this.

Anybody found where the setting is at in the menus?

Thanks.

My issues with this phone

Hey all,

Have owned this phone for a few days now. I have two issues with it, otherwise a 5.0, but thinking of taking it back because....

1) The service I get with it is horrible. I should have gone with my gut instinct in the store when this phone had 1 bar and the phones near it had 3. I've been carrying around my old cell phone (Audiovox 9155) for the past few days and wherever I go, the 9155 has 1-2 more bars than the 9900.

2) I hear a bit of a crackling noise in the background whenever I'm on a phone call. Didn't hear this with the 9155. Even with full service, sounds like that "digital jargon background noise".

If anyone has any ideas/comments on this, please inform. Otherwise it might be back to the store for me on...

Maximun Number of Downloaded Ringtones

Anyone maxed out on ringtone downloads yet? If so, how many were you able to load.

One more question, is the maximum number of downloads determined by a specific number of slots? Or is this controlled by the size of the ringtone?

Purchasing 9900

I will be purchasing the 9900 in the next week or so. I was just wondering about all the cool things this phone has to offer. Also, how does it stand up to the phones that Verizon has now, and will have in the near future?

Annoying Verizon banner on the outer display?

Does anyone familiar with the 8900 screen switching from what you actually WANT to see to the "verizon" banner (as if we need to be reminded where our bill comes from) know whether this totally annoying feature is present on the 9900?

Has anyone checked out mobile web 2.0 on this phone?

I called Verizon and they updated my mobile web to version 2.0 on their end and when I sign on, I get really cool graphics and when I go to find URL, I can type in any web address and it will display graphics from the web site. The only problem is I get a message sometimes telling me I don't have enough memory and it doesn't display all the graphics but I guess I can't complain because this is the first phone that lets you access any Internet web site. Being mobile web only cost $4.99 a month compared to some of those PDA phones costing $70 a month for unlimited internet access through Verizon.

if anyone has this phone and there's a PDF manual that came with it, could you post it somewhere?
Also, there doesn't seem to be any info about this phone on the Audiovox site, does anyone know why that is?

Tech support claims data cable does not work

I was thinking of buying the 9900 and called their tech support to find out if it can be synced with Outlook 2003 to get all my phone numbers into it. They told me the data cable does not work with the 9900. True or not?

Can we still get Pictivision, from photo.com, via "Get it Now"

There were many pictures I wanted to re-establish in the Audiovox CDM-9900 which I had in the CDM-9500. I don't know how to access my photo albums from Photo.com , any suggestions? 😲

Hands free car kit for Audiovox 9900?

Does anyone know if there is a hands free car kit available for the Audiovox 9900. My dad just got the 8900 and then I found out there is not a car kit for it. Since then, Verizon has released the 9900. He can exchange the 8900 for the 9900 but he really only needs to do this if he can have a hands free car kit for his truck.

If it isn't available has anyone heard if there are plans for one.
